Highly recommended
Pros:

An exceptional little boutique hotel in a good location, walking distance from the station and close to the town centre and sea.
Beautiful room with everything you could need thought of.
Lovely lounge and bar areas, and great, friendly staff.
A choice of good restaurants on the neighbouring street.
I would stay again and recommend.

Brighton's artistic vibe personified in an hotel.
Pros:

A very individual room with 5 star amenities, such as high quality toiletries, branded robe and slippers, welcome card and gift. The tea and coffee provided were of a high standard. They had thought of everything. The bed was comfortable and we both had a good night's sleep.

Cons:

For the price, I expected at least a continental breakfast to have been included, and a 12 noon checkout, rather than 11am.

Stunning room in a beautiful hotel with prime location
Pros:

Room size, decor, breakfast, friendly staff, kid friendly, nearby parking and location

Cons:

Amount of stairs as no lift in one half of the hotel; local car parks are very expensive, £36 per day

Dreamy Sea View Room
Pros:

We had the most gorgeous double room (Fox #2) with a big sash window opening on to a little balcony facing the sea which was a great spot for a morning coffee before checking out. Would love to return.

Fabulous stay!
Pros:

I stayed with my daughter in an apartment room. It was just perfect!! Close enough to The Lanes and main areas, so we could walk everywhere, but far enough away to ensure that we slept well, which we did : ) The staff were also incredibly kind and helpful. I would wholeheartedly recommend you stay here. A real surprise, but amazing!

Pricy, Hipster and Average
Pros:

The Artist Residence Brighton is a pretty building in a great location. The downstairs is elegant and comfortable.

However, our first floor sea view bedroom, despite costing £260, was tiny, barely large enough for the bed and built in bathroom. We had to edge around the bed with nowhere to place our luggage and go to the toilet inches from each other. Considering the cost of the room, it seemed a little OTT that the helpfully placed snacks and drinks littered around were not complimentary.

The sound proofing of our room was also non-existent and we could hear the music from the bar before as well as from the room above. We were woken up by someone banging around loudly at 3.45am, which wasn’t ideal on a restful break.

The concierge kindly gave us a complimentary coffees upon departure, which was a nice gesture. However, it doesn’t change the fact that this hotel is a lot of money for an average experience.

Boutique hotel Bliss
Pros:

Excellent location walking distance from train station and waterfront. The hotel is quirky, warm and chilled atmosphere. Perfect for smaller groups/couples. Room was ideal for our party of 5, plenty of space and beds were so comfortable. Special shout out to Jake who made the most amazing cocktails and always greeted us with a smile. Definitely be back to stay here.

Full of character, love and art
Pros:

On a whim I found myself travelling to Brighton for an art event and my birthday and was blown away by the images of the Artist Residence on the website. It lived up to the images and couldn't have been a better place to celebrate my birthday. I sprung for the seafront view room and it was beautiful. Seeing all the different art throughout the hotel, recognising some of it... it just feels like a really unique, non-corporate place to stay. The room was really heavily stocked with an incredible mini-bar, both snacks and drinks, and the tiny touch of the Roberts radio being on low on Jazz FM just seemed to really set the scene. Everything was spotless (although I meant to mention to the staff they need to flush the drain because after having a pink bath overlooking the sea, the water came up the shower drain next door). For me, it was quiet even tho you were on a square which was in a prominent location. They'd thought of so much, like making an umbrella available to borrow from the room, if needed, and a fan/heater. The bed was really comfortable. Staff were really friendly. I'd definitely stay here again if I come back.

Exceptional staff
Pros:

The staff was exceptional, extremely kind and understanding. The decor was fantastic the place is very homey. The only issue we had was the room wasn’t very clean, and the cleaning between nights was minimal. The cleaner only emptied the bin and replaced towels, the bed was not made and the room was not properly cleaned. Not many amenities but that’s expected. The room was quiet and comfortable.
