Not the refined escape we expected
Pros:

I’m typically forgiving when I like the hotel group (as I do with MGM Resorts) and understand that Las Vegas is a hectic place. But this last stay was a letdown.

The positives included the friendly front desk staff; JP, the bartender, who makes both good drinks and good conversation; and a relaxing cabana experience enhanced by Sylvia’s warm, attentive service.

Unfortunately, the low points bookended our three-night stay, beginning with our arrival. We arrived around lunchtime and expected simply to drop our bags if the room was not yet available. Not having it ready by the official check-in time was disappointing. Not having it ready over an hour later was worse. Most frustrating was being strung along all afternoon with the expectation that it would be ready soon. The complimentary food voucher was a nice gesture, but we ultimately waited until dinnertime. A clear answer would have given us another half-day of vacation experience. Another option would been to grant a pool pass (requested and denied).

A policy suggestion: Move the checkout time back by however long the room is delayed—or, at minimum, don’t be so militant about checkout when you the hotel are late on your part of the bargain.

Departure was not much better. When I checked our bags, I confirmed that retrieval would be quick when we were ready to leave for the airport and that the bell staff could arrange a cab. Neither proved true. I waited for someone from the bell staff to appear and eventually joined the check-in line to ask the front desk for help. The sole bell attendant then appeared, but when I asked about a cab, she told us the valet had left and directed us to walk to the main Park MGM entrance. The 110-degree heat was mitigated somewhat by the short distance—except that no one was there either. We ultimately flagged down a cab ourselves, only to have another bell attendant emerge specifically to chew out the driver for picking us up at that spot.

We had also paid for a late checkout, which was worthwhile, but the app and repeated emails continued reminding us of the standard checkout time. That unnecessary confusion could easily be prevented by having the systems recognize the purchased extension.

The Reserve, formerly NoMad, is positioned as the quieter, more refined section of Park MGM. However, it shares an elevator bank with the main hotel, which undermines that distinction. Compared with Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan, and Aria, the atmosphere felt noticeably louder and more casual, including a steady stream of guests carrying coolers.

The hotel cannot control every guest’s behavior, but the overall environment still shapes the experience. Returning to our room one evening, we found dog droppings nearby that were still there the following morning. Our Do Not Disturb sign had also disappeared—as, apparently, had the signs throughout our wing.

The rooms themselves are elegant, although noticeably lacking in drawer space. Our meals at Eataly, The Library, and La La Noodle were all enjoyable.

Ultimately, however, the positives were not enough to offset the operational failures and environmental issues that prevented this from being the relaxing break we needed.

Grande Suite
Pros:

The service was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end. Every team member—from the bell staff and front desk to housekeeping—provided warm, attentive service. Every interaction was met with genuine kindness and a sincere desire to make my stay memorable.
The room itself felt incredibly sophisticated, and it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. Some of my favorite touches included the premium bathroom amenities, hardwood floor, the clothing steamer, and the elegant glass ice bucket. I also greatly appreciated the daily coffee and bottled water provided in the room.

Cons:

Dass man extra jeden Tag angeben musste dass das Zimmer gereinigt werden soll. Bei einem 5 Sterne Hotel dieser Preisklasse setze ich das voraus.

Nice place Bad service
Pros:

Overall, I like the place as our second room is very nice. Location is great.
First room was definitely older needed some work and had rust.
The waitress service at the pool is bad. Waited for days to try to order drinks and food and after requesting it many times we finally gave up.
Ordered extra pillows
to our room over several days several times and still waiting.
Overall nice place good choice but bad service

Not the MGM for Us
Pros:

Our stay was below average, and we will not return. We waited in lobby chairs for 1.5 hours for our room to be ready even though we were told it would be ready “by 3:00 but definitely before then.” It was ready at 4:30. We had already eaten lunch, walked, and played games. During this time, we were denied a pool pass. I have never visited a nice hotel that denied a pool pass while the room was delayed in being prepared. The pools were uncrowded.

The lobby, common areas, and rooms are beautifully decorated. There was dog waste at the end of our hall. The waiting area at the elevator banks is very loud and crowded.

The AC did not cool the room. It was 113 degrees outdoors. The common areas were blowing warm air. The halls smelled musty.

The room was quiet and comfortable. There was one luggage rack for two people and no large flat surfaces for luggage.

The Reserve pool was unexpectedly closed. The regular pool service was great.

We presented a bag check ticket to a bellman who returned with bags that did not belong to us. This means our own bags were not secure.

The hotel service is in no way on par with Bellagio, The Cosmopolitan, and Vdara. We will continue to stay at those three on future trips.

Different name, just as good!
Pros:

We stayed here last year as The Nomad, and booked again as a 4 night stop on a little road trip from the UK. The name changed after we booked, so wondered if the hotel would change, and be as good. Thankfully it is virtually the same except for signage, and just as good! Rooms here are a little smaller on the whole than the Vegas norm, but that isn’t an issue. Enough room, nice bathrooms, great decor and super comfy bed. I should have started with check in, it is separate from the Park, not busy and very friendly barely a queue. The whole hotel vibe is a little dark, and slightly dimly lit. This works for feel, but seems to add to the calmness of this almost boutique (ok little smaller for Vegas) distinct hotel at the top of the Park MGM. Separate pool area is really great, and service there exceptional, thank you so much Alex working hard to look after everyone by the pool, and Phil at the bar. Nice to have all the facilities of Park, the shaded area near Primrose, and the facilities of Eataly on the doorstep. Strip access via tram or air conditioned walkways helped in July heat. Our second stay here would really make me think we would choose this lovely property for another Vegas stay. We have stayed at other lovely Vegas hotels, but this one has hit a really sweet spot for us.
