Ropewalks Hotel

Confusing messaging about check-in (I was told different things by different people), security staff in the evening was not particularly friendly, very busy hotel and thin walls (can hear doors slamming, people shouting etc.)

Upon check-in, I was initially allocated a room in the basement. After being shown the room, I immediately returned to reception and requested a change, as I was not comfortable staying in a basement room. I was asked to return after one hour, at which point I was reassigned to a room on the first floor.

However, during my stay, I experienced ongoing issues with the Wi-Fi, which was not working at all. When I raised this with reception, I was advised to forget the network and reconnect, with the suggestion that it might eventually work. Unfortunately, this did not resolve the issue. I reported the problem again the following day and was given the same advice, along with a reassurance that the issue would be escalated to their IT team.

Despite staying for two nights and as I was travelling for work, it was frustrating that the Wi-Fi issue was never resolved, and I did not receive any effective support or follow-up from the staff. This significantly impacted the quality of my stay.

I hope you will take this feedback seriously and look into these concerns to improve the experience for future guests.

Due to its location in the city centre, which is great during the day for site seeing... ALL night, starting from the afternoon until about 4am all you can hear is loud thumping music continuously. Not faintly in the background either, BOOMING loud. Even with the windows closed it sounded like the rave was right underneath you. Me and my husband didn't sleep all weekend. I do not recommend this hotel if you are visiting Liverpool with the intention of wanting to sleep at a normal time after a long day of sightseeing as its just SO unbelievably noisy. Also the rooms were incredibly hot, no air con. Just a very (dusty) desk fan, but you couldn't open the windows due to the noise, so.. overall.. terrible sleep. I would not stay here again sadly or recommend it to anyone over 30!!

A very noisey fan unit below our room which kept us awake most of the night I did ask for a quiet room and that’s what they gave us when I complained they gave us ear plugs 🤫really

No towels but obviously rang through to reception and got some in minutes. Hand towel plus shower/bath mat would have been nice. Bit dark in room esp by door where fire escape details were. Air con?
