Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Times Square South

Wir haben dieses Hotel wegen seiner Lage, guten Bewertung und Preis ausgewählt. Wir waren bereits frühzeitig (13 Uhr, Checkin erst ab 16 Uhr) vor Ort, konnte nicht einchecken, Zimmer wäre aber da, so die Auskunft des Personals. Wir also zum Konzert und waren ca. 23 Uhr wieder im Hotel. Problem war nur, dass kein Zimmer mehr frei war, wir haben 2x eine Karte fürs Zimmer bekommen, Tür ging aber nicht auf, weil das Zimmer bereits belegt war. Es stellte sich heraus, dass weitere 3 Familien kein Zimmer hatten, dass Hotel wurde überbucht. Wie das geht, keine Ahnung, aber nach langen Diskussionen wurde uns ein DZ frühs um 9-10 Uhr zugesichert, dass hat dann auch geklappt. Die Situation war für den Nachtmanager sichtlich peinlich, er hat wirklich alles versucht, in den Nachbarhotels Zimmer zu finden, nur wie soll das gehen, um 1 Uhr Nachts. Wir haben letztendlich in der Lobby übernachtet, unbequem auf den dortigen Sitzmöglichkeiten, mit Klimaanlage und Dauermusikbeschallung. Ein Spaß war das nicht.
Uns wurde als Entschädigung ein Nachlass von 2 Nächten in Aussicht gestellt und am Ende auch gewährt, der Nachlass war beachtlich und hat tatsächlich uns entschädigt. Kann man das auch anders sehen, aber für uns war es am Ende ok, man hätte an der Situation nicht viel ändern können, außer komplett umzubuchen, zu einem bei weitem höheren Preis udn finanziellen Verlust, denn booking.com wollte lediglich 1 Nacht rückerstatten! Da sind wir mit dem Nachlass vom Hotel echt besser gefahren.

Les chambres sont bruyantes à cause des systèmes de climatisation. Le rapport qualité prix n’est pas équilibré….mais c’est NYC

Las habitaciones son muy pequeñas

The beds and pillows were too soft, they didn’t provide enough support.
The room is very small.
The AC is very noisy and does not cool enough. We call the maintenance person but just showed us how to turn on and off. It was way cooler in the aisle by the elevator.
The entrances of the hotel are by the sides of the building. They are not wide enough, so it’s difficult to enter pulling bags.
The days we stayed, there were always bins of sheets/towels being delivered and bins of trash. We were not able to get in/out of the taxi in front of the hotel.
The elevator (we were at 15th floor) was very busy. We always had to wait up to 5 rounds to be able to catch the elevator up or down.
The breakfast was very limited for hot food options.
The card reader at the bar didn’t work (at least that’s what we were told) so it will be taken out of the deposit (which by the way, why would it take up to 7 days to be returned?)

Nelle ore di punta potrebbero essere necessarie un po' di attese per gli ascensori.

Aside from Jeremy who was kind and responsive , the staff was very rude , unfriendly

The elevator wait

With a European background i found the breakfast 'interesting' but I've never been to the USA, and so I don't know if this is normal. A buffet with sparse setup, paper plates, and plastic cutlery. I could find something to eat but and for the amount of people coming to it, it was always replenished quickly but certainly an experience.
I hope for the room to be a bit bigger but at the end of the day, it did it's job.
