Large PH - easy parking
I wasn’t asked how my stay was when I was leaving
The pillows are not great - have a look at buying hotel pillows
The Staff were excellent from arrival to eating in the dining area behind the bar
We were given information regarding emergency exits timings on access to the various doors with the room keys
There was nothing we did not like
All just renovated, nice and clean, good night sleep in amazing location ! Staff was very helpful and welcoming
Location was good for event we were going to. Room was good, very clean and ideal for over night visit.
Breakfast was ok. Poached eggs slightly over cooked. No Choice of eggs given for full breakfast. No smoked salmon available.Would have preferred fresh coffee.
We left early in the morning for a hospital appointment, so we didn't eat breakfast. We had our evening meal there though, and that was excellent. We arrived at school finishing time, and there's a primary school across the road. It was lovely to see the hotel allows parents to use their car park for the brief period to pick up their kids from school.
Two small points. The bed was bit soft and squidgy for me. The shower didn't have any sort of anti-slip mat, and it was incredibly slippy. To tell the truth I can't understand how nobody has broken something yet?
Ok but should be included in price
Staff were very friendly.
1 hour wait after ordering breakfast.
Nothing
The whole stay was a shambles. The bedroom was so small, the cupboard in our room was full of towels and bedding for the 4 rooms they have, the wardrobe space was taken up by fans and ironing board, there was nowhere to put clothes or luggage - we couldn't use the balcony because we had to store our luggage in front of it. the bed was so small and so hard we didn't sleep. The hot water tap in the bathroom was so strong it splashed everywhere including on the floor and the water was boiling hot so a possibility of being burnt. The first night we had a party of 7 for dinner, 3 people sent their meals back and the rest said their food was hardly warm, lunchtime the next day we ordered 2 sandwiches on different breads and they got them the wrong way round! The amount of time we had to wait at the bar to be served was ridiculous, because half the staff were talking and not being alert to customers needing service. This hotel was recommended to us as we were at a wedding nearby, we booked for 2 nights but preferred to drive home late at night rather than spend the 2nd night in that room. Did we get a bad deal or not? I don't know but certainly wouldn't recommend it and wont be back again, amongst the worst service and hotel room we have had worldwide - dreadful
Amazing staff and awesome food. Staff went out of their way to make our stay brilliant. There was music coming up from the pub until around 2130 so I wish I had ear plugs with me but half nine is a reasonable time to stop. Would totally stay there again. Awesome breakfast too. Highly recommended
It's a pub so there was a little noise from downstairs but it all went quiet after half nine which is fine
brilliant
nothing
An excellent location with great EV charging.
Have stayed here several times over the years but sadly unlikely to do so again. The room was looking a little tired, particularly the bathroom (no plug in hand basin, taps needing replacement washers, shower cubicle tired, poor toilet flush, toilet roll holder hanging loosely). Also the locks to the room door and bathroom door need attention. The breakfast pricing is non-sensical - how can a large breakfast be the same price as a small one or the same as a bowl of granola and yoghurt?! Food quality is good, but pricing felt unfair. What a shame.
