Beautiful maximalist decor and feels like staying with family
Pros:

After lots of research on TripAdvisor, I decided to stay at Pug Seal Anatole France for my most recent trip. I had stayed at other hotels in the city, one being a large chain (which was lovely) and another being a beautiful hotel in Polanco (but full on my travel dates this time). I wanted something different. I had heard of the Pug Seal brand and wanted to try one of the Polanco hotels, and I decided on Anatole France, because I loved the maximalist interior blended with the colonial exterior. Before we went, I contacted the hotel via email regarding transportation to/from the airport. José responded immediately and made the arrangements. We were greeted at the airport by a driver, and he made our departure from the airport and drive to the hotel super easy. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Erika, who was friendly and professional. We were delighted to find the decor of the hotel exactly as we expected: colorful and fun! No bland tan and beige decor here! The paintings, wallpaper, and rugs all reflect the maximalist style, and we loved it! After a day or two, we decided to call the hotel "la casa de me tía," because we felt like we were enjoying a stay with a family member. All the staff (José, Erika, Tonio, Juan, both Albertos, and everyone else) were very friendly and helpful at all times. Our room felt like we were in the home of family, as well. A big deal for me: the air conditioner worked great! The bed was comfortable, and I loved the bathroom and bath products. The shampoo smelled so good that I hated to was the scent from my hair after I returned home. The shower was outstanding...great water pressure, and even had a handheld want in addition to the rain shower head. The wood floor in the shower was a perfect touch and kept water from every accumulating. We especially enjoyed spending time at the bar with Tonio, who had a great, welcoming personality. The location was great...an easy walk to anywhere in Polanco. Of course, we had to take a car to other areas of town, but we expected that. We found the hotel to be clean with excellent service. We did not hear a lot of extraneous noise. I thought the hotel was an excellent value. The only thing that could be improved is the wi-fi. It is not a big complaint for me, because I could sit in the common areas and get good service, but it didn't work well in our room (#19). However, it will not stop us from coming back. We look forward to returning and visiting with our newfound friends there! A beautiful and fun experience in the heart of Polanco.

Home away from home in CDMX
Pros:

My second sign staying in this beautiful boutique hotel, and it was even better than the first. The space itself is lovely, but of course what makes the experience is the people and I truly felt like I was being hosted in their own home. Many thanks and cannot wait to return.

Charming & Welcoming
Pros:

Stayed for one night on a weekend, looking for a quiet place to stay after a medical intervention. The staff were proactive in accommodating my needs, cordial, and communicative.

The venue itself is already the talk of the town for its eclectic interior which somehow does not overwhelm. It is also very clean. For those with limited mobility, note that this is an old building with no elevator. On the flip side, all rooms' bathrooms have a feature which is very hard to find in Mexico; hand-held showers.

Pro-tip: If you are staying for one night only, don't miss out on breakfast! Both the food and the setting make for an unforgettable experience.

Lovely stay, Great Service, Friendly staff
Pros:

Lovely stay, the service was great and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. They provided a steamer for us when we needed to get our things wrinkle-free for a wedding and looked after our luggage on our final day as we went around the city exploring before our flight home. Our only note was the photos seemed a bit misleading from the room we booked which was a bit disappointing and the price could be lower as I would not pay the same price again to stay there again.
