Love bar area
Booked breakfast for 7.30 all locked up no access
To dining room left att 7.40 without breakfast even though I paid for it
The landlord was most accommodating, perfect location for walkers/cyclists on the Trans Pennine Trail, rooms spacious and clean, Evening meals v good, breakfast bit late as chef not turned in although landlord stepped in and did a great job. Our cycles well looked after.
Nothing really, bit of a late breakfast for reasons above but all worked out in the end.
Bedroom was large and comfortable
Breakfast was very poor. No tables set. No cereals or choice any kind to help yourself. I asked for tea with breakfast and was given a small cold stewed pot. I didn’t get another. The coffee was cheap powdered coffee which tasted poor. Breakfast was thrown down not even a serviette was given. We were promised granola but never appeared. One guy on breakfast who told us he was leaving and obviously didn’t really care about customers experience. Baked beans were cold bacon was under cooked.
Door downstairs to main stairs banged and shuddered our room every time it was used.
Friendly staff made us very welcome, accommodation was spotless and to finish of our stay, we had a lovely breakfast. Highly recommended and will be staying again
Easy parking and nice room.
The staff, particularly the bloke in charge appeared sloppy and unprofessional. The food in the evening took 35 minutes to serve, even though the place was practically empty. The dinner was very average.
Breakfast looked like it had been cooked by a child.
The room was nicely decorated
No hot water in the shower . We booked breakfast for 8.30 . When we went downstairs to enter the pub , the door was locked and everything in darkness , after knocking several times, we went back to our room and I phoned them multiple times . No answer , we eventually left via the fire escape !!!! Disgraceful . On reading the guest book in the room , the exact same thing happened to the previous guests .
Food and staff were lovely
Short
Location for where we were going
As above
Great location for stop over, friendly staff when we arrived
Given different room from what we booked. Unaware there was a function on until 1am. No bar meals available. No hairdryer in room nobody available to request one. Unable to access the restaurant for breakfast in the morning as no staff were in to open up, we were locked in the bedroom area with access outside from the fire exit. Five couples left without breakfast still no show from any staff by 9.30. Packed bags and left.
Good location for Carlton Towers
The weirdest set up for breakfast on day 1 and no breakfast on day 2.
The room was beautiful and clean
The booking stated it included breakfast which was one of the reasons why I booked this accommodation. When we checked in we were told breakfast would be between 8 and 10. I stated we would be down at 8 as we had a busy day.
We went down at 8 and the access was locked, we knocked no answer, went down at 8.10 knocked again, no answer. Tried again at 8.20 again no answer.
We had to leave through the door on the side of the building as we had no idea of knowing when they would serve breakfast and we just left the key in the bedroom door as there was no way we could find any staff.
There was also no towels provided in the room which we did not realise until it was too late and did not want to go down into a busy pub with wet hair to ask for some.
I think the worse thing is that I left a note with my contact details and also a message on booking.com asking for a partial refund to cover the breakfast, though have had no reply. Very poor customer service.
Large bedroom with comfortable bed.
Powerful shower.
The room facing the road is quite noisy if the window is open.
Not an issue if its closed.
OVER BOOKED. Be careful when booking on booking.com. they mustn't update the information on here. When I booked it said there was 3 rooms left. Turned up and they were fully booked and my room wasnt available. The following day still received a message from the hotel asking how my stay was
There is the most awesome ale brewery attached to the pub behind it! Zero ale miles and very good beer!
Nothing.
Location was good for us. Quiet room at the back of the hotel. Lovely spacious room! Nicely decorated. Ashley, Chloe and George were lovely. New managers, one month in post so still getting used to running it. All very hard working. Ample parking.
Stayed for six nights which is probably unusual but from a housekeeping point of view the stay was far from ideal.
Breakfast was great location spot on
