Location
I am very disappointed that the hotel was unable to find the small bag I left in my room. I called several times and sent multiple emails, but unfortunately, nothing has been resolved.
Friendly reception. Nice room
The step up to the bathroom needs to be better marked. I had a bad fall going in the night
Staff are exceptional, friendly and helpful. Hotel is most comfortable and location is superb
Location
This was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I've had, especially for a 4-star hotel in such a great part of London.
After a long, hot day sightseeing, I returned to my room to get ready for dinner. Instead of being able to shower, the bathroom drain started violently backing up, spitting foul waste water and clumps of someone else's dark hair into the shower. It continued for around 15 minutes and was a serious hygiene issue.
I had to go to reception, show staff a video of what was happening, repack my entire suitcase, and move all of my belongings to another room. As a result, I had no time to shower before leaving for my dinner reservation.
What was even more disappointing was the hotel's response. At checkout, my concerns were brushed aside with little more than, "Yes, we're sorry again." After emailing the hotel, they misspelled my name and offered just £30, while completely ignoring the hygiene implications and the significant inconvenience caused.
Problems can happen in any hotel. What defines a good hotel is how it responds. Unfortunately, this hotel failed on both counts. I certainly won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone expecting the standards of a 4-star hotel.
Fantastic location atop Richmond Hill a short walk from the Park and fabulous Hollyhocks in the Terraces. Glorious weather made pints at the Roebuck and a seat on the benches overlooking the Thames a treat.
This is our second stay at the hotel and it's been excellent on both occasions. The area is fantastic and it's close to the centre of town.
Nothing
Great location for walking to town but nice to be on hill for sunset
I have never before experienced such happy, friendly, helpful staff.
Only staying one night
Lovely hotel bar … staff were excellent !! Location was amazing
Corridors were a bit dated
The staff, the grounds and the room was exceptional.
