Fantastic interior and very welcoming staff, nice room and clean.
The only opportunity for improvement is suggest is that the breakfast service feels rushed. Our hot dish arrived while still eating the first course. There needs to be a balance between efficiency and practicality as the food gets cold. The only other suggestion is that the seats in the executive lounge need to be checked for crumbs after guests leave as the area where we were seated had crumbs in the chairs and looking around do did others. These are only minor suggestions, the staff are amazing and the hotel is beautiful.
The heritage property with history is extremely comfortable, beautiful and the halls are full of museum worthy items
Cost and sophisticated
Sehr schön gestaltetes Hotel im englisch-indischen Kolonialstil mit vielen historischen Bildern, Uniformen und anderen Ausstellungsstücken. Das Personal war ausnahmslos sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir waren etwas zeitig im Hotel und unser Zimmer war noch nicht fertig, wir konnten aber in den Duschen vom Pool uns frisch machen (Duschen mit Handtüchern) und umziehen.
Die Zimmer sind im gleichen Stil eingerichtet und grundsätzlich sehr schön. Frühstück gab es a la Card was soweit auch recht gut war. Man saß hier aber eher in einer alten englischen Bibliothek alpin einem Restaurant, wie gesagt das Hotel ist hier wirklich sehr auffallend gestaltet, hatten wir so noch nicht gesehen.
Das Hotel liegt wenige Minuten zu Fuß von Chinatown und der MRT Station Maxwell entfernt, also wirklich ideal um mit der U-Bahn die Stadt zu erkunden. Das geht sehr einfach und ist kostengünstig.
Die einfacheren Zimmer sind recht klein, reichen aber für ein paar Nächte beim Städtetrip aus.

Beautiful hotel with old worlde charm. Excellent attentive staff. Club lounge was so well worth it as it was almost half board. Food was all delicious. Pool was delightful. I'll definetly return.

Staff and breakfast
Rooms were small, shower was a tiny cubicle, very bad. The room was dark with poor lighting and no light from the window as it was 1m from another building.

Some minor repair needed to the bathroom door needed on arrival and limited space in bathroom or shower to lay out toiletries. Relatively minor issues.

Maxwell has truly become a home away from home for me.
I’m in Singapore almost every month for work, and ever since I made the switch to this hotel, I haven’t looked back. Before I’ve even stepped out of the car, I’m greeted with “Welcome back, Ms. Mallika” — Randy never misses to greet me. Simar is always there with a warm smile, ready to help with my bags, and that level of consistency carries through the entire team.
The service is thoughtful, personal, and genuinely warm — something that’s rare to find at this level, consistently.
On top of that, the food is incredible. The room service menu is a favourite (try their Fussili pasta), breakfast never disappoints, and overall, every stay just feels easy.
If you’re heading to Singapore, I couldn’t recommend it more. And if you do make your way over there, please say hi to Randy for me.
Excellent breakfast included in the price and delightful restaurant staff
The Booking.com site said we would have drinks and canapés each night on our stay but that did not happen. The hotel said that was offered for the next level of room but I couldn't find that exception on this site
Staff were delightful and there were really lovely little touches like leaving us cake and decorating the bed for our honeymoon. The hotel also has a beautiful unique historic feel, while still maintaining comfort.
The pool is a little small.
