A friendly pub in the heart of Howden
Pros:

This is a cracking find. A really nice pub in the heart of Howden. Free parking to the rear, a friendly welcome, spacious room. The breakfast was fantastic, and Shane provided the breakfast 30 minutes early as we were setting off early. We ate in the pub in the evening, and the food was really good.

Cons:

The central heating in the pub was in despite it being warm, so it was a little bit too warm, but it was fine in the bedrooms.

It was very convenient for my needs and had a large free car park

Cons:

The room was not en-suite but did have a private bedroom immediately opposite. 9am for the inclusive breakfast was too late for my itinerary.

The Wellington is situated in the centre of Howden. There is a bus stop outside.
The breakfast was very nice and the service was excellent.

Cons:

Ignored by first member of staff. Room at top of building up 2 flights of stairs. Bathroom is down the hall which is not mentioned at all in the description of the room. TV not working properly ( not connected to Internet). Noisy main road outside. Terrible chemical smell in the night. This place is really a workmans stopover and the breakfast was no better than a sloppy cafe one. I was booked for 2 nights but left after just one.

Breakfast advertised as part of the price, but not served until 9am (told in the morning). The rooms are contractor worker standard only (not for couples). 9am would be too late for a contractor. As it was for me. Would not go back

Great location - friendly hosts
Pros:

Breakfast was plain and simple - not much choice and no cereals or juice
It was cooked well and there was plenty of it - very friendly hosts and it was an excellent location in the middle of town

Cons:

Steps! It was on the top floor so with a heavy suitcase and asthma it was tough going! Only a small niggle
