Hope to Be Back!
Pros:

tdlr; Highly recommend!
10/10 hospitality. Everyone is very friendly, always willing to help, courteous.
Very pretty physical space.
Great food at The Panama
Great coffee at Deadstock
Room was a king and it was cozy with modern touches. Loved that I could open the window for fresh air. Bed was very comfty.
Complimentary water cans, coffee/tea bags, even milk - can replenish as well (all complimentary)
At check-in, you can choose between a White Claw or a Caprisun which I found cute.
Didn't get to visit the rooftop but I'm sure it's very nice.
Public transit was easy to navigate with Google Maps and very accessible.
In terms of safety, it's downtown so there are homeless people but never had any issues / never felt "unsafe" - I'm a petite short Asian woman who traveled solo for context.
My experience was great! Happy and thankful a hotel like The Hoxton exists.

Top Service
Pros:

I had an issue come up with my family, and I really needed assistance with some details of my reservation. In a world where it’s hard to find humans to help with human problems, Ed stepped up and helped me, working with me to figure out a solution quickly and kindly. If you’re not sure where the best service in Portland is, it’s The Hoxton. 10/10.

Great stay in central Portland
Pros:

Great location, easy to get around. Portland downtown has its challenges and that’s not this hotel’s responsibility. Just be mindful of your surroundings when coming and going. The hotel itself is great, the staff are helpful, and both the lobby restaurant and rooftop bar are great spots. My room was clean and comfortable and well appointed.

Cool vibe and excellent service
Pros:

I had the pleasure of staying at The Hoxton last week while passing through Portland on business, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience. The vibe of the hotel and the history of the building really stood out, but what made the biggest impression was the people.

You can definitely tell this is a UK-based hospitality group because they do the little things exceptionally well. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about the guest experience. The front desk team in particular was outstanding, especially Ed, James, and Sam. All three went out of their way to make me feel at home, answer questions, and be supportive throughout my stay. What impressed me even more was watching them provide that same level of service to other guests as well.

The food was also excellent. I ended up trying a really unique Vietnamese-American inspired breakfast in the restaurant that was fantastic and easily one of the highlights of the stay.

The rooms are definitely on the smaller side, but honestly, you are probably not spending much time there anyway, and the price was a really good value for what you get. The bathroom was full-sized with excellent water pressure, quality shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer, plus plenty of towels. The bed was also extremely comfortable.

Overall, just a great place with a lot of character, excellent people, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’m already looking forward to staying there again the next time I’m in Portland.

Really cool place
Pros:

We loved our stay at the Hoxton. It is such a charming place with handsome decor, with a good bit of whimsy. We loved the art, and I love the decor choices. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The room was very tasteful, though it was a bit on the small side. The location is very convenient.

We didn't wind up taking advantage of the food and beverage options on site. I was very impressed with the quality and the reviews; it was definitely elevated over typical hotel offerings. There was a speakeasy that wasn't open while we were there, and a really awesome sneaker-head-meets-coffee-snob coffee shop that we didn't take advantage of just because we were up earlier. There was also a Filipino restaurant that had great reviews, but it opened for brunch a bit later than we needed, so we couldn't take advantage of them. They all looked very solid. The overall experience was really great.

Moldy shower
Pros:

This property was almost awesome, great restaurants, great location, cool vibes, so I’m sad to only be able to give it 2 stars because the house keeping was just not acceptable. Our first night we arrived very late and realized there was no sheets just the comforter and mattress cover. We were exhausted so we just slept on the comforter and then let the front desk know in the morning, when we arrived back to the room in the evening there were still no sheets so we had to ask twice and they delivered a sheet at the door. Honestly, it would’ve been really nice to come back to a made bed instead of us making it up ourselves after asking twice.
And then the shower was really dirty. The shower walls had clearly not been scrubbed in a very long time. But with the black grout it’s definitely not as obvious until it’s wet, I noticed after bumping into the wall, first the slime and then the black mold pieces on my arm and shoulder. I’m not a huge confrontation person and after having to ask multiple times for sheets I just wanted to check out and go home.

Brilliant staff members equal a great hotel experience
Pros:

My stay at the Hoxton in Portland Oregon was absolutely delightful and the reason lay squarely with its brilliant staff members.
From the outgoing and positive Andrel with the valet staff to Mercedes and Jillian at the front counter who shared reminiscences of other travels in which we’ve encountered authentic old fashioned Photo Booths like the one in the Hoxton lobby.
And I would never have made reservations for the Hoxton at all without walking in randomly and talking to Dom about the types of rooms that were available. He wisely suggested the Queen Cosy for my stay. It was ideal and made my week at the Hoxton absolutely perfect and perfectly comfortable. Thank you Dom so much for your great recommendation.
My last kudos for the Hoxton must go to the fabulous food at the Pamana restaurant. Don’t miss that during your stay. And do stay there every chance you get.

My new favorite hotel❤️🙌🏻
Pros:

The hotel is unique and very sophisticated. The beds are extremely comfortable and the rooms are serenely quiet with an artistic, eclectic flair. The amenities are abundant with the crowning touch of Tope on the top floor with a bird’s eye view of the city lights at night..simply stunning.

Incredibly Unsafe Location. Worst sleep of my life.
Pros:

Hip

Cons:

Felt incredibly unsafe. Accosted by several drugged up homeless folk upon arrival, heading to dinner, and post dinner. Stepped in pee. Parking is insanely expensive

Worst sleep had in my life. So loud - hearing people above and next to you - and all the horrible noise outside.

We left at 7 to gtfo of there. And this is coming from someone who lives in Chicago!

Wish we cancelled and went somewhere else. Cried stepping outside it was awful! And I love Seattle

Excellent Customer Service
Pros:

This venue was the perfect vibe and accommodations to help us celebrate our daughter’s graduation from law school!! The Apartment was comfortable, spacious and the staff was more than accommodating in all aspects. Thank you set up staff and Aaliyah for taking such good care of us during the party! Shalon, Nick and Matt you were all so kind and helpful. The valet folks were amazing too. Not to mention how cool it was to experience jazz night, TOPE and the speakeasy. Overall it was a wonderful stay, good food, cozy rooms and amazing customer service! Thank you all.

Overpriced rooms
Pros:

The employees were great but the room was overpriced. Rooms are VERY tiny and my view was of a concrete wall (assuming another building?) about 2ft away…it was especially weird because when I booked, the lady told me I’d have a view with natural lighting. $200 is a lot for a dark, tiny shoebox.

Excellent staff and service!
Pros:

Mak and Mercedes at front desk were friendly and welcoming, able to answer all my questions in a professional manner. I liked that when I asked something they didn’t know, they were ready to write down my message and pass on to whoever responsible. Aaron, the valet attendant, was super friendly and professional. I drove EV (my first long drive from Seattle) and wanted to make sure it would be charged overnight. They texted me (text communications are real and so convenient and efficient by real staff not AI) that I have to go to their contracted parking lot to pay for charger. Aaron walked me to the lot, which is only a few blocks from the hotel, making sure it’s charged. He even offered to come back plug out after 4 hours as the charges are double after 4 hours. Very nice staff and service. The location is a bit shady in china town with lots of homeless but I think it’s typical for all downtown Portland.

Wonderful, stay and wonderful price
Pros:

Location atmosphere room and value are absolutely amazing! Cleanliness was close to godliness has some people say. The noise level is a bit much as I am only three stories right above the street. It is Burnside so it is a very busy street here in Portland. Service was outstanding, and I did not take advantage of any of the amenities.
