Excellent staff/service but poor physical condition and quality of rooms
Pros:

The standout aspect of Samann Grand was unquestionably the staff and overall service. From the moment we landed from our seaplane transfer, the coordination and hospitality were excellent. The hotel team collected us almost immediately, handled all luggage seamlessly, and provided a smooth, comfortable transfer from the seaplane terminal to the hotel. The level of attentiveness honestly felt comparable to the five-star Maldives resort we had just stayed at.
Check-in was friendly and professional, welcome drinks were provided, and every interaction with staff throughout the stay was positive. The team were accommodating, flexible, and clearly doing their best to provide a good experience. In particular, Suda, Nisal, and Vineesh were all extremely helpful.

Additional positives included:

- Excellent airport and seaplane coordination
- Helpful luggage assistance throughout
- Flexible transfer arrangements when our return flight was delayed
- Umbrellas provided during heavy rain
- Staff escorting us directly to the airport check-in desk
- Comfortable and clean bed/bedding
- Nice rooftop dining and breakfast area overlooking the harbour and airport
- Included airport transfer added good value for a short overnight stay

Cons:

Whilst the room initially appeared modern, the overall build quality and maintenance standard were disappointing and did not feel in line with a four-star hotel.
The biggest issue was the air conditioning. The room was extremely hot on arrival with the AC switched off, and even after running continuously overnight on the coldest setting, the room never became properly cool. We repeatedly woke up during the night feeling uncomfortable and overheated.

There were also multiple maintenance and infrastructure issues including:

- Damp marks around the AC unit
- Wallpaper peeling away from the walls
- Dirty marks on parts of the wallpaper
- Strange odours coming from the bathroom
- Very small bathroom
- Faulty bedside sockets in the first room
- Intermittent power and weak voltage in the second room
- Extremely slow device charging due to poor electrical supply
- We had to change rooms because neither bedside socket worked in the original room, and even in the replacement room the electrical setup did not work reliably and we couldn't use bedside sockets
- The soundproofing was also extremely poor. The walls were so thin that conversations in the corridor could be heard word-for-word, and whilst in the bathroom we genuinely thought another room’s ringing phone was our own.

Voor 1 nacht prima, voor meerdere nachten zou ik andere lokatie doen.
Pros:

Schoon, vrij ruime kamers, heel vriendelijk, behulpzaam personeel. Free pick-up/drop-off airport. Goed roodtop restaurant.

Cons:

Gehorige kamers: geluiden van gang/andere verdieping.
Slechte isolatie voor geluiden van buiten: 2 moskeën vlakbij, ochtendgebed om 5 uur. Oordoppen meenemen!

Pros:

Bel emplacement, proche de la vie authentique de la ville. Bon restaurant, petit déjeuner et dotation de la chambre.
Personnel très agréable, Suda et Himanshu à l’accueil mais aussi les serveurs ainsi que ceux qui s’occupent de la navette et l’aide à l’aéroport.

Pros:

地理位置还是不错的，离机场很近。工作人员很热情，提供机场接送，帮我们联系下一家住宿的酒店，按时送我们去乘水飞。而且工作人员还热心的帮助我们提行李，服务还是很好的。

Cons:

主要是对硬件不满意，房间太小，椅子和凳子都没有，只能坐在床上；卫生间可能通风不好，有一股霉味；我们住的房间大概空调外机就在阳台上，噪音很大，一整个晚上都睡得不好；如此简陋的房间，一晚上的价格超过100美金，性价比实在不怎么样。
