Wouldn't hesitate to return.
Pros:

Lovely and central. Breakfast had good selection, staff always friendly and very helpful, particularly as my husband is disabled. Enjoyed having balcony views.

Cons:

Awkward getting wheelchair through doors.

Pros:

Conveniently situated, rooms spacious and clean. Reception staff as helpful as they could be. Breakfast lovely.

Cons:

Just minor things first room we had the hook was hanging off in shower room so nowhere to hang towels. Second room to remote didn’t work, we emailed to let them know and later received a response to say someone has been over but we didn’t hear the door. Very noisy during the night due to people shouting in street but thats just unfortunate

As always, I love staying here. Nice area, very quiet hotel and lovely views from balcony room.

Cons:

The shower pressure was extremely poor in the morning. Rooms need to invest in air conditioning even with balcony room. Not enough mirrors.

No air con, fan, milk for tea and coffee, lack of a decent mirror.
As there is no fan or aircon, the windows have to be left open.
Therefore, outside noise is an issue.

Pros:

Hotel in centre of Colchester. Main hotel is where you eat. Room is across the road. Room was good size but backs onto street with busy pub.

Cons:

The room was warm and if you opened the window the noise from the street was too loud until midnight Friday and 4am Sat/Sun
