Niceish staff
I literally had to book another hotel for the night
The location was good. The staff was friendly. The hotel was clean.
I think there should be a way to better communicate that it’s a communal bathroom and shower situation.
Notre chambre était très agréable et calme. Les douches et toilettes partagés étaient très propres. Le gros atout de l'hôtel est sa situation géographique : au cœur du downtown qui bouge, c'était parfait!
Location
Room was very hot didnt sleep good
The location was awesome, and the bed was very comfy! I was a little worried about no A/C, but it was not a problem at all. The room was comfortable with the window slightly open. The shared bathrooms were very clean and were always available when needed.
It was not very clear where to park. However, there is a lot a block or two down from the hotel that offers parking at certain times. Otherwise, that lot just offers three-hour parking. Even on a Monday, there did not seem to be a lot of on street parking open right beside the hotel.
We love the Norblad. It's a great place to stay. It's clean, super comfortable and in a great location!
We would appreciate curtains on windows so it is darker at night, but not a huge issue
It was a great location and had a good view of the river and downtown.
It was tastefully renovated and felt very comfortable.
The room was very nice not to big or to small. We had a nice view of the town and was close to walk along the Main Street
Cannot think of anything
The staff is so helpful and communicated the power issues as soon as they had any updates.
Out of Norblad’s control but the power issues.
Central location
Apparently guests should not have expectation of hot water availability. There was no hot water the morning and staff could not help us saying that building is old and rooms compete for limited amount of water. We were getting late for event so we had to urgently heat water in the kettle in order to get some sort of a shower (see image)
Wow-- this was the best first-time experience I could've asked for! This hotel is the best bang for your buck, bar none. Location is within walking distance to all of the local businesses, food, and the water. And the street parking was so easy!
The staff was welcoming and helpful, the room was pristine, the towels and robes were so soft and the bed felt like a marshmallow. My wife and I slept so well. We stayed in the apartment that was in the historic building across the street. It was our first time in Astoria and we will definitely be back!
Great decor, layout and location. Comfortable bed with great views.
We could only crack open 1 window. Without AC, the room was hot and stuffy. The kitchen doesn’t have the basics needed for cooking, ie knives, cutting board, etc.
Great location. Enjoyed the historic nature of the building The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Note however, we were in the suite so we had a private bathroom. We wouldn’t stay if we had to share. Just sayin.
A great stay in Astoria, very comfortable room and lovely reception, very helpful. On street parking was simple. The perfect location to explore Astoria on foot. We walked all over and had a brilliant time. We stayed in king suite A which was great but it was very noisy as the door opened right to the reception, and not everyone respected quiet hours. They did provide earplugs, which was helpful. Sisu brewery was a great spot for food and drinks and had table service, vs the Fort George across the street which was very busy on a Sunday evening. Would stay again for sure but would look to stay in a room further away from reception.
