Close to downtown
Comfortable bed. Nice shower. Location and proximity to Pike Market. Rooftop terrace is nice although the food was only ok and came up cold. (I didn’t complain, I was hungry and just ate it). Beautiful view of the sound from my room.
Parking was rough. No valet. You have to go park in a public parking garage ($28 per night) and haul your luggage back to the hotel up the street almost a block. Minimal loading zone in front so I had to double park just to go inside and ask what to do. I wish they had someone out front to help with this. Bottle of water by the bed was $8! There is a $29 amenities fee for wifi etc, although you do get a $15 token to use in their restaurant. Kinda nickel and dime stuff. Room was small.
No where to hang clothes
Location.
Very small room. Roof top bar not open. Having to request mini fridge, should be in the room on arrival.
Close to where we wanted to visit
Clean
Very clean, great location, they gave us two $15 chips good for food/drink in their restaurant. Bartender was great!!
We got to the hotel 45 minutes before our check-in time (4:00pm), and were told that our room was ready, and for an extra “early check-in fee” of $25, we could check in right away. Otherwise, we’d have to wait until 4:00. We asked why, if the room is ready now, can’t we just check in without the fee, and they essentially said that someone else might be come in and they could get their money. We chose to go park the car and walk around for a bit, but was inconvenient for us. This may be industry standard, but it still seemed greedy to us.
We’re not used to paying the high price we paid (nearly $400 per night after taxes and fees), but realize that’s probably standard in popular areas of big cities, especially on either of the coasts.
Location ,Location Location … Beautiful hotel for a stay in Seattle .
didn’t have breakfast.
Didn't love how you make coffee in the room with a kettle. It felt messy. Room is quite small.
Very close to the waterfront for access. Easy walking distance to get to path to walk along the sound for exercise and views. Rooms are great and well appointed with the coziest robes ever!
The State Hotel is all about location. It’s within walking distance of Pike Place Market, the waterfront, and many of Seattle’s top attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring the city.
The rooms are quite small, but that’s to be expected for a boutique hotel in such a prime downtown location. Where the experience falls short is in the overall value. The staff is only somewhat helpful, and the hotel seems intent on nickel-and-diming guests for extras, which is disappointing considering the room rates are already on the expensive side.
Overall, it’s a decent place to stay if location is your top priority, but don’t expect exceptional service or great value for the price.
Location was great. Need more supplies stocked in room.
Location to surrounding merchants was so convenient
Restaurant had good food
None
The hotel was clean and nice, as was the room. But the room was small. It is in a great location, which almost justifies the excess nightly cost. But the hotel charges extra to check in even a few minutes early and charges extra to use the TV and/or the internet. I will not return.
The location alone deserves 5 stars. Are you kidding me?!
With the long food lines at Pike Place, it was so nice to be able to say, “I’ll come back later when things calm down a bit..” You literally walk downstairs, and there it is. Yes, it’s that close!
The hotel itself is absolutely luxurious. You can tell from the details and décor that a lot of artistic thought went into its design. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and tastefully decorated. I love the large windows, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get an amazing view overlooking Pike Place.
The staff was absolutely incredible and incredibly helpful. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, we were greeted with nothing but smiles and friendly hellos every day.
If you have time, check out the bar. We had the privilege of spending a couple of hours with Justin and Jeremy. If you’re looking for unique, creative cocktails, Justin is definitely your guy. If you prefer expertly crafted classic cocktails, Jeremy is your guy.
We also tried the rooftop bar. While the view was amazing, we weren’t big fans of the drinks.
As for parking, it’s off-site, but the walk isn’t bad at all—about a block away. There was security patrolling the area, which definitely put our minds at ease.
Breakfast was delicious. Be sure to try the pancakes—they’re really good! They also offer gluten-free options.
Considering it’s located in the heart of the city, I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was. We couldn’t hear any outside noise, and we didn’t hear a single neighboring guest throughout the night, aside from the occasional sound of people entering or leaving their rooms.
Overall, I don’t think I could stay anywhere else after being so thoroughly spoiled. I’d personally like to thank the wonderful staff for making our stay such a memorable one.
Location was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. In room coffee was amazing and the room was very comfortable. The rooftop deck with happy hour was excellent.
The ideal location, the comfort of the room, and the rooftop patio make this hotel an amazing place to stay.
The rooms are somewhat small, but we weren't spending time in the room.
