Kimpton Da An Taipei- an IHG Hotel

We are currently staying at the Kimpton Da’an. It has been less than 24 hours since our arrival, and I normally would wait until check out to write a revived. However the service is so exceptional, I just had to make the post.

We received a warm welcome from Leo last night and his colleague later helped us book a set of massages for my family at our favorite location.

Last night it rained very hard and the plastic poncho my 84 year old mother was wearing got stuck to the wheel of her walker. This morning, I could not get the plastic off with a scissor while sitting in the lobby.

Hunter proactively came to help. Hunter was patient and kind and brought the right tools to help us take the wheel off. Without the help, my mother would not be able to walk very far without the walker. We are so grateful for Hunter’s thoughtfulness.

The room itself is spacious. Very modern. Breakfast was delicious and the service at the Tavernist was fabulous.

Overall, we would stay at the hotel again!

The arrival service was good and they all spoke English very well. The check in was done while you were sitting down. English at this property was all very good. They had a lot of international guests. The rooms were on the small side for Asia and had low ceilings. The furnishings were more 4 star boutique than 5 stars. There was a balcony but it wasn’t very nice to be on since there wasn’t much of a view. There were a lot of confusing gadgets in the room that I could not understand. The location is quite good. There isn’t much amenities and had a small lobby due to it being a boutique hotel. But it’s more expensive than a normal boutique hotel would be in Taipei.

When you arrive at your hotel, early in the morning, after a brutally long red eye flight and the manager says….we have room for you that is ready……you just know it’s going to be a great stay. The rooms were well appointed and well designed, also very well sound proofed. Location was great, walking distance to the MRT, shopping and tons of restaurants. Front desk staff was top notch, probably the best I have experienced and I have traveled extensively. In fact, the staff made our stay in Taipei much more memorable with their great advice and assistance. I really can’t say enough about how terrific they are.

Next time we are in Taipei, we will definitely going back to the Kimpton Da An Hotel!!

Such a hidden gem in Taipei, The Tavernist is truly a great restaurant. Their new May menu beautifully combines many Taiwanese elements and flavors. The bartender, Jeremy, is also excellent at crafting dream-like cocktails. Having a meal here with friends was a really enjoyable experience. Special thanks as well to their sales representative, Rachel, for the warm and hospitable service.

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Da An Taipei and can honestly say it became one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve had in years.

What makes this hotel special is not just the stylish design or fantastic location in Da’an — it’s the people.

From the moment I arrived, the energy felt warm, genuine, and welcoming in a way that immediately changed my entire impression of Taipei. The staff struck the perfect balance of professionalism and personality, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, youthful, and incredibly authentic.

I especially want to recognize Marie, Peggy, William, Cheska, and NoNo for making my stay so personal and enjoyable. Every interaction felt sincere and thoughtful, never scripted. Their kindness, smiles, recommendations, and hospitality made me feel less like a hotel guest and more like someone they were genuinely happy to welcome.

There were also countless other team members whose names I unfortunately did not catch, but the culture at this hotel is clearly something very special. You can feel it the moment you walk through the door.

I travel internationally often and usually stay at luxury properties, but what stood out to me here was the emotional experience of the stay. The Kimpton Da An helped me experience Taipei in a way that felt personal, local, and deeply enjoyable.

The neighborhood is fantastic, full of great cafes, restaurants, and walkable streets, and the hotel itself has an energy that perfectly matches the area.

I arrived in Taipei unsure how much I would connect with the city. I left already wanting to return — and the Kimpton Da An was a huge reason why.

The first time we stayed at Kimpton Da’an was 2023, found thru online reviews and we initially liked where it was centrally located from where we wanted to go and how easy it was to get to the MRT. This time, we loved it for the people. The staff was phenomenal. Special shout outs to Marie, Charlie, and Rohit who all really made our 8 night stay exceptional. They were not only helpful but also very personable. Marie would see us, greet us with a smile, ask about our day, what our plans were and provide suggestions if we weren’t sure what to do or where to go. Charlie answered any questions we had and was generally super helpful. Rohit anticipated our needs, provided exceptional service by being super thoughtful and knew what we would need without even asking for it. Rohit really took some stress off of our morning the day we were leaving and it was honestly so nice. We love it here and honestly can’t wait to return.

We had an excellent stay at Kimpton Da An in Taipei. The service was truly exceptional, and what made the experience especially memorable were the personal touches from the staff.

Manager William and Head Concierge Rohit went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of throughout our stay. They were incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and always willing to help. Their recommendations for restaurants, sightseeing, and local experiences were fantastic and really helped us enjoy Taipei even more.

Both William and Rohit made the hotel feel warm and personal rather than just another luxury stay. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality stood out and made a lasting impression on us. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Taipei.
