Kimpton Da An Taipei by IHG

My 2nd stay here

The good:
- nice location in Da an with Sogo, Cosmed, Family mart. Also M One cafe and Orange Shabu hotpot
- newish and stylish from 2019. Think W from marriott or Andaz from hyatt. Sheraton and Regent taipei too old in comparison
- if normal breakfast too heavy, there are complimentary pastries and coffee/tea at the lobby

The neutral:
- taiwan hotels no longer provide amenities but you can request at front desk

The not so good:
- Kimpton goes 1 step further and don’t provide water either. Though you can get from the gym
- the gym is tiny with 2 treadmills, not much else
- tv doesn’t have CNN

Great location — only about a 3-minute walk from the subway, which made getting around really convenient. The service was excellent, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d definitely recommend this hotel!

Yet another great experience at the Kimpton. Stayed here again on my trip to Taipei this is my fourth stay here and got an upgrade to the King Suite with the IHG upgrade coupon. Room is huge and beautiful, slightly interfering design choice as the room and toilet doesn’t have a door separating but overall not a huge issue. Service is friendly and warm as usual. Definitely my hotel of choice in Taipei!

The staff were so friendly and polite! If you ever run into any problems or have any questions, just ask them and they’ll be happy to help you out. Plus, the location is great—there are loads of different restaurants close to the hotel, so you’re sure to find something you like to eat.

Great staff made my stay. Everyone that worked there was attentive, professional and respectful. Their job was to make my stay enjoyable and they did!! starting with housekeeping, bell people, front door staff and front desk. I don’t know who is training them, but they made me feel like my well being and satisfaction was important to them. Amenities were great, but we were out during the day and didn’t get to use them. I will definitely return for a longer stay.

I travel a lot and have stayed at different hotels around the world, Kimpton Da An has become my favourite hotel, together with Rosewood hotel! Highly recommended. I can’t wait to be back soon! Hopefully in September or November 2026!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is incredibly convenient, making it so easy to get around. Our room was spotlessly clean, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. The bed provided an amazing night's sleep, and we especially loved the wonderful, calming scent in the room designed for sleeping—it was such a thoughtful touch.

What really impressed us was the outstanding hospitality of Ms. Hunter Sun. She is incredibly attentive and has an amazing eye for detail. She even noticed a small Pikmin plush on our luggage and took the time to recommend some fantastic local Pikmin spots nearby! On top of that, she gave us a brilliant list of late-night food recommendations that hit the spot perfectly. Hunter’s genuine warmth and personalized care made us feel so special. We will absolutely be back!

This was an incredible stay for my partner and me and the hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The hotel is centrally located and only a block away from the MRT (metro) and a major mall. The hotel staff was truly first-rate. We were always greeted very warmly and we saw staff attentively take care of the other guests during breakfast and evening social hours. They also offer afternoon snacks if you are around. The lobby is modern and lovely and offers many seating configurations that allow for socializing among the guests, including an outside patio complete with a waterfall and koi pond. When not as full, the lobby can be tranquil and spa-like. We looked forward to returning to the hotel every night. If we were early, we enjoyed meeting the other guests at the socials, unwinding with the refreshment and yummy snacks provided. The staff always offered to make us comfortable and this helped to foster a wonderful community at the hotel. When we returned later, we were so glad to find a freshened room and extremely comfortable bed. We stayed in an essential room and it had all the amenities we needed. I appreciated the robes and slippers provided during the stay, and the sliding inside shutter to make the room extra dark. They have body wash, shampoo and conditioner of high quality in large bottles in the room. For some reason I didn't think there would be any because we were told to bring our own personal items. The incredibly clean room also had a hair dryer, clothing steamer, ironing board and safe. They also offer free in-room Nespresso coffee and various tea bags for brewing. I appreciated having a decanter for water, which I would fill in the lobby, where you have a choice of sparkling or regular water at two different temperatures. There is also a mini frig with some drinks and snacks for extra cost. There are multiple outlets for all your charging needs and a large screen television. At night, the rooms were fairly quiet. We did not hear other guests or outside noise. We came with extended family and everyone who stayed elsewhere agreed our hotel was the best place to congregate before or after the day's itinerary. Not only will we stay here again when we return but everyone we traveled with said they would book here next time as well. The price is perhaps a little higher than some other hotels in the area especially those with a lot more rooms but you get good value for the Kimpton experience. We thought the hotel was overall an outstanding stay.

We chose the Kimpton as our base for exploring Taipei for four nights and glad we did. The Kimpton is very well situated centrally in Taipei and so many sights are located within walking distance or just a few MRT stops away, which is really easy to use. Shopping and great restaurants are all within a 5-10 minute walk.

The hotel itself is very comfortable with always a warm smile greeting us at the hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the restaurant/bar has great food and cocktails. I also enjoyed all of the amenities including coffee, drinks and snacks available in the lobby I enjoyed meeting the general manager Mr Lim and he was very friendly and provided many helpful tips and you can see a true service oriented culture throughout the entire staff. I won’t hesitate to stay here again when I visit Taipei.
