Staff were amazing
We stopped here for one night halfway through a long road trip and the location was perfect for us. We arrived right at 3pm and were checked in by 3:01. All of the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and spacious, with soap/shampoo/conditioner all provided in the bathroom. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel is very quiet overall.
The pool area is great. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long drive! We loved that it was indoor/outdoor, and the hot tub was really nice.
The 5:30 kickback dinner was an amazing perk. The food was better than expected for a free meal and there is PLENTY of it. All guests over 21 also get 3 free alcoholic beverages if desired, soft drinks and coffee/tea are always available. There's also free popcorn in the lobby if you want to take a snack back up to your room. Breakfast also had a wide range of options - you definitely won't go hungry staying here.
This will be our first choice from now on whenever we do this long drive!

Square pool not good for swimming laps.
Pool was cloudy and smelled for 4 days. Kids did not want to go in. I complained for 2 days. They said the pool test showed it was fine. I told them I owned a pool for 20 years and there must be something wrong with their test kit. There was no way it should be that cloudy. So I went there for pool but could not use it.
I have stayed here several times and always been very pleased, however this time I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the hallways and the comfort of the room. The rooms are dated and I found the mattresses to be very soft and uncomfortable. They lack any character, are sparsely furnished and are showing signs of wear. The staff was WONDERFUL as was the food, but the hotel itself could benefit from renovation and improved cleaning.

Breakfast she last a little longer. My guest said the night attendant had a very bad attitude when they arrived to pick up the 2nd key to the room.
Overcrowded insanity at dinner and breakfast
I loved the fact that it was handicap accessible everywhere we went in the building. The pool was nice especially because it was both indoor and outdoor. The room and bathroom were large enough to maneuver in and the bathroom was a great size and well appointed. We
Stayed on the 8th floor closest to the elevator and it was extremely quiet and the elevator was large enough for my husband in a wheelchair and my walker. My husband was even able to serve himself breakfast via the buffet.
The bed was not very comfortable. I expected an upscale bed like other Richmond hotels but the room was otherwise well appointed and clean.
Location is close to EVERYTHING. Hot breakfast and evening "kickback" options were a tremendous value when travelling with kids. It was a blessing not having to find a place for meals for 3.
The pool and hot tub were CLOUDY. Hard to control with lots of guests using them, but minimally the facilities folks could shock it at night to get a handle on this each day before it gets too bad.

This was a very affordable hotel that exceeded our expectations. My young boys enjoyed the popcorn in the lobby in addition to the indoor/outdoor pool. My husband and I enjoyed the fitness center and the evening “kickback” and breakfast. We had everything we needed and more when we stopped here on our way to OBX. A great way to start off our vacation and would love to stay at a Drury hotel again!
