Nice larger property with professional hospitality standards well above the price range.
Pros:

Location was perfect for us. Easy in and out, yet close to Richmond and Short Pump, our two places of interest. Hotel was very busy, yet we didn't have to wait for anything. They knew how to handle large groups and holiday weekends. Decor was nice and clean. Room was nothing super-special, but it was clean, modern, and well-maintained with free, no-hassle internet, decent TV, mattress, etc. This is important; even though there were lots of teen-age athletes staying there, there was little noise in our room. I think the place was built to a higher standard than many. We will come back here for sure.

Drury Inn Richmond Va
Pros:

If you are in Richmond don’t even consider going anywhere else. Staff is great, housekeeping is spotless and the location is a safe one. The breakfast and 5:30 kickback makes it so the only meal you have to really worry about is lunch if you are traveling on a budget with a family. Plus they give adults free wine! What’s not to love?

How Do They Do It?
Pros:

I asked Co-Pilot to map out a route from Florida to Pennsylvania with 2 overnight stops. We usually stay at Hampton Inns. Co-Pilot suggested The Drury Plaza Richmond (Glen Allen), Virginia. Between that recommendation and Trip Advisor reviews, we booked The Drury. The rates are at least competitive (or better) but wow … you get so much more for your money. The hotel is super clean. The staff is super friendly. The beds are super comfy (the pillows are small but nice). AND each guest gets a coupon for 3 free drinks, happy hour buffet (dinner!), and breakfast! The drinks aren’t Dixie cup size. Wine, beer AND cocktails. I had a decent margarita. Actually 3 nice margaritas and a pulled pork slider with coleslaw. Chili, salad and hot dogs were also available. The hot breakfast included make your own waffles, 2 different kinds of scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausage, biscuits & gravy, and oatmeal. Cold cereal and fruit also available. The decaf coffee was excellent. How do they do it???
Very easy off and on I-95. This will be our Go-To for future trips along this route! Thank you Ci-Pilot and Trip Advisor and … The Drury for a very nice stay. See you next time! But really … how do they do it all for the price???

Pros:

I read all the reviews online in preparation for a road trip from the northeast coast down to North Carolina with a midpoint stay in Richmond. This place received great reviews on Tripadvisor, which is my usual go to for anything travel wise. I was expecting a fantastic place, but discovered that it was average at best. My room was a little rundown and average. The breakfast was very good though. The free dinner was just OK. Most of the servers were very polite and enthusiastic. I think for the money, I was expecting a little bit more.
