Bait and switch room type - manager decision
Pros:

The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and the front-desk staff I encountered were courteous and professional. Unfortunately, my experience with management was extremely disappointing.

My family reserved and paid for a Double Queen Suite. When we arrived around 11:00 PM, we were informed that the General Manager had reassigned our room and moved us to a King Suite with a sofa bed because a large group had requested a large block of Double Queen rooms and he wanted that business.

In other words, a confirmed reservation for a higher-priced room type was not honored, and my family was placed in a less suitable room after a long day of travel. What made the situation especially frustrating was that management later refused to refund even the difference between the Double Queen room that was reserved and the King room that was provided. Instead he offered an "upgrade" on a future stay which didn't make any sense because we'd already paid for and reserved the double queen for that stay, too.

I understand that operational issues occur. What I do not understand is why a guest should pay for one room category and receive another without any adjustment to the rate charged.

If room configuration matters to your family, be aware that a confirmed room types may be changed without compensation if your reservation is downgraded.

Property was good and close to the airport. Bring food and drink with you and park early.
Pros:

Breakfast was good.

Cons:

More parking needed. The property is in an industrial area and I wanted to find some fast food or grocery close by to eat in the room. The desk person couldn't point me to one and stated she wasn't from the area and didn't know. I just went out and found a main road and drove till I found a grocery, about 5 miles, and then backtracked back to the hotel.

Since our flight was cancelled, Homewood Suites saved the day.
Pros:

The front desk ordered us a LIFT because we were leaving very early for the airport and the shuttles were prebooked. We were very impressed.

Cons:

Everything was good, no complaints and Leenay directed us to a good place to eat dinner.

Perfect for our next day flight home.
Pros:

Nice room, quiet. Shuttle to and from airport.

Cons:

No restaurants other than Hilton owned in the area that are really walkable.

Pros:

Very practical location - close to the airport, close to the car rental company, close to the way to the mountains. The breakfast was good.

Cons:

We always like to stay in a place with a kithenette. There were very few plates and cups. I guess I would prefer to place a door between the bedroom and the bathroom / sink because It is more practical if someone is getting ready and does not necessarily wake up somebody with the light on.
