Feels like we stumbled across a little piece of Paradise - the gardens alone were stunning!

Recommend this Machiya for a taste of traditional Japan - nestled in a quiet narrow street.
Pros:

Beautiful original machiya, lots of charm and character. In a great spot to easily walk to Gion, train etc. The room had all that we needed.

Mi e piaciuto il stile giapponese e anche il luogo calmo dove si trovava

Cons:

Al dire il vero non c’era niente che non mi piaceva della struttura anche se era un po distante da Gion ma lo fatta sempre a piedi più delle volte e mi è piaciuto tanto poter caminare nelle vie giapponesi

Lovely Machiya experience in a great location
Pros:

Beautiful modern renovated property but kept the great Machiya structure. Very clean room and had everything we need. Close to Kiyomizu temple and Gion district but very quiet at night as it’s in the residential area. Check in and check out was super easy, they kept our luggage before and after the check out. Great value and Highly recommend!

Pros:

Struttura in zona residenziale tranquilla per chi preferisce stare lontano dalla confusione e vivere l'esperienza di dormire in una casa tradizionale giapponese. Comunque ci si sposta comodamente a piedi o con i mezzi pubblici. Stanza e bagno spaziosi. Letto comodissimo. Pulizia impeccabile. Check in vicino alla stazione, ci hanno portato i bagagli direttamente in stanza. Per il check out invece abbiamo dovuto prendere un Uber (servizio efficiente) per poter depositare i bagagli fino all'orario di partenza del treno.

Cons:

Solo una lavatrice a disposizione. Non sono riuscita ad usarla perché sempre occupata

Check in was problematic. Did not get to check in location in 3 minutes. Took 25 minutes. Perhaps clearer directions. Or onsite check in?

Este lugar es cómodo, bonito, limpio, definitivamente me volvería a hospedar en este lugar.
Pros:

Este lugar es definitivamente tranquilo y si está bien ubicado a pesar de no estar tan céntrico. Hay buenos lugares para comer cerca y tiendas de cerámica artesanal a pasos.

Cons:

No recibí las indicaciones para entrar con tiempo. Así que fue un poco complicado al llegar, sobre todo porque no hay front desk y estaba lloviendo. Tardamos un poco en entrar pero al final todo bien.

The room was spacious, but the hotel was too far from the city center and lacked adequate facilities and convenience.
Pros:

We only liked that it had a large and comfortable bed.

Cons:

As shown in the photos, the room did not open onto a Japanese garden as advertised. In addition, the air conditioner and TV remote controls had instructions only in Japanese, so we were unable to use them. The location was also far from the main tourist and central areas. We had to walk about 2 kilometers just to reach transportation and get to the city center from the hotel.

Cons:

Charging 500 yen per bag to transport your own luggage from the checkin desk near Kyoto JR station to the Machiya. (The first 2 bags are free). You cannot send the luggage directly to the Machiya from Yamato Transport service, you have to send it to the Check-in counter only.
The Wifi was unreachable in our entire room, we were shocked how no one had complained about it until now. They sent us a pocket wifi but it was very slow and very unreliable in terms of Coverage.
