Pros:

Kings Highway is quiet and in a good location for our visit to Derby.

Cons:

There was a funny musty smell when we first walked in the room. We opened the window and this helped.
The soft furnishings had dirty marks on them and the settee was badly worn ie the cushions slopped steeply to the middle. There was no bedside cabinet on the right hand side of the bed.
The taps in the bathroom were unusual and very awkward to use. The lever started out on the left, as you moved it to the right the cold water flowed and it got hotter as the flow increased..
In general the room needs an upgrade.

Friendly staff, good location for our onward journey, good selection of drinks and food
Pros:

Location, but the staff are excellent and couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was superb and to our liking.

Cons:

Breakfast was just OK, we stayed here in April and we felt it was better then, no black pudding, no mushrooms this time. a touch disappointing on this front.
