This hotel is in an excellent location – in the heart of Philadelphia and within walking distance of the harbor. The room was spacious and updated. The breakfast was very good. However, these was a prom party in the ballroom under our room. We could hear the loud beat until 1am. We called to complain, but they really did not care and there wasn’t anything they could do since there was not another available room. We have a “fan” app on our phone, so we turned this on as loud as possible to mask the beat as much as possible.
The location was perfect and within walking distance to everything we wanted to go see.
Parking was a little difficult, but to be expected for a large city.
What a great hotel! We are 5 old college friends and we met for two nights to catch up & see some of the sites during the semiquincentennial (250th) year. This hotel was perfectly located! We could walk to many of the historic sites and there were great restaurants within a 5 - 10 minute walk. Highly recommend The Plough and the Stars and Positano Coast (across the street from the hotel). This was late May so there were weddings and proms going on. It did get a little loud at night, but we overlooked that. There's a big open air lobby with a bar. Rooms were fine. We met John the General Manager in the lobby one morning. Great guy! One of his claims to fame is intalling complimentary water dispensers on every floor - you can pick still or carbinated and have a choice of quite a few flavors. The coffee in the hotel lobby (which you do have to pay for) is from a local Philly company. Wander the grounds nearby and you'll find statues commerating the Irish and the Scotish rebellions.
Location is excellent. Walking distance to Independence Hall. Staff very friendly and helpful. Spacious.
Bathroom can be improved. Might replace shower curtain with door to prevent water from coming out of the curtain.
Well located in the heart of America's most historic neighborhood. Philadelphia Marriott Old City Hotel. It is located within walking distance of the city main attractions, restaurants, bars, shopping center and night life, just 5 minutes walk from the 2nd. street metro station. Being outside the city center, it's easy to get around, avoiding traffic. It's close to the airport and train station, 10-minutes drive to Lincoln Financial Field, where six soccer matches will be held in the FIFA World Cup 2026. The rooms are comfortable and well-decorated, excelent wi-fi, featuring an excellent bathroom and shower. There is a well-equipped fitness center with plenty of space, as well as a lively lounge bar, located in the center of the hotel. The large and very comfortable "M Club" lounge offers 24hrs, 7 day a week access, with beberages selection, comfort food and great options of snacks, a very taste gourmet coffee. Breakfast is generous, with a choice of buffet or a La Carte options. The service is excellent, with competent and hands-on management; the team is attentive and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.
The reason this was rated so poorly is because we were on the second floor and right underneath was prom. You could hear the music, the loud base beat. We were on a coach tour and another room on that floor there lights were actually shaking. Prom went until 12:30pm.
Room facing the atrium was noisy at night due to the business of the bar. Next time will request a room away from the atrium.
Fantastically comfortable beds. Great size room. All great.
Had the buffet breakfast once and was disappointed with the range of cold fare. The bacon and scrambled eggs were great though but no tomatoes or mushrooms.
