check in, did not call when room was ready, no sham I or conditioner, crumbs left behind,limit user is at the bar which is poorly run, my days was locked in her bath 2x because of a faulty lock. My bill was a mess at check cause the poor lady to undo others work! Food was marginal at best at the bar and room service...

I would consider The Westin again, but would definitely shop around 1st.

Pros:

Desk clerk on 5/29 went out of her way to get us an early check in.This was invaluable as person in my road had recently healed from 2 broken knees.I appreciated the professionalism and concern for an issue that was truly valid.

Location was convenient since I didn’t care about staying near Bourbon St. Near Riverwalk and Canal Pl.

Cons:

1. Staff were unfriendly. You walk by the valet just standing around doing nothing. You say hi and they just ignore you. They need to put them through customer service training or just being plain friendly. You’d think they’d know better being from the south.
2. They do not offer lotion unless you ask. And I’m sorry but that is the last redeeming thing about the Westin. There are other better options. I’m not sure if it’s just this particular hotel but it’s ridiculous how stingy they were with supplies. The cleaning service aren’t even allowed to carry any. You have to call downstairs and even then they act like you’re not worthy of the lotion. They give you one tiny bottle of lotion. So the next day I asked for more and they said they’d send it up. They never did. I guess they decided the one bottle was sufficient for my entire stay.
3. I had a daily credit. One night I decided to use it for truffle fries $9 and a soda $4. In order to have it delivered to my room they charged $29. I said I’ll just pick it up from the bar. She tells me she’ll call me when ready. Never called. I went downstairs on my own and it’s just been sitting there.

Great value for everything the hotel has to offer.
Pros:

Location was amazing! The bar was an added benefit and the buffet breakfast was good.

Cons:

Honestly I liked everything. The only thing is it’s several blocks from the French Quarter but it’s right across the street from a casino.
