Thistle London Holborn

Fab location close to theatres, British museum, Covent Garden, Holborn tube 5 min walk Tottenham Court Road tube less than 10 mins.
Good breakfast and helpful staff.
Room was clean and had a nice ensuite. Air conditioned.
Stayed a few times, always been happy with stay.

Location is great. 5min walk to Holborn tube station for the Piccadilly and Central line and Less than 10 mins to Tottenham Court Road for the Northern, Central and Elisabeth lines. Easy walking distance to heart of theatre land and British museum just round the corner.
Breakfast is decent, good range of food on offer.
Staff always helpful and ready to help.
Rooms are clean if a little dated, but have good air conditioning. Beds as are comfy enough.Ensuite is good with a nice rain shower above the bath.
Third time staying at the Thistle Holborn, always been happy with our stay.

The location is amazing! Right around the corner is oxford street, minutes walk from holborn underground statiom that connects you to other parts of the city.

Very well situated hotel for access to Covent Garden and Central London. Our room was good for two people but as a family room where the sofa bed was to be used - impossible.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating, though they didn't always carry out requests.
The air conditioning was very effective, which we appreciated.

We were so pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Thistle Holborn. Everything was fantastic. We can highly recommend the property and would stay here again. The staff was professional, kind, and accommodating.

Upon check-in we luckily were able to upgrade our room from Executive King to a suite. If you have the opportunity to take advantage of this offer as a group of three, I cannot recommend it enough. I did find that they description of the Executive King room on booking.com to be inaccurate and I hope it has been corrected. When booking (for three), the Executive King said the room had a queen and a twin bed. After receiving the offer to upgrade, I contacted the hotel to confirm the layout of the Executive King room and was told that actually that room has a King bed and an extra bed (assume a cot) can be brought in, if available. This obviously would not have worked for us with three grown adults.

The suite was perfect and provided so much room which was a pleasant surprise in a hotel in the center of London. The room had a King bed and a sofa bed in an adjoining room/space (no door). The extra space gave us plenty of room for suitcases and we did not feel cramped in any way.

As far as amenities, a kettle is available in addition to the coffee machine, with a selection of teas, milk, and even shortbread. The mini bar contained complimentary sodas, beer, and G&T.

Our room was toward the back of the property and very quiet. You are two blocks from the British Museum, 10 minutes from Covent Garden, and 10-15 minutes from Oxford High Street shopping, yet far enough away from the crowds. The tube at Holbern station is maybe 8 minutes walk. You can take the Picadilly Line direct from/to LHR (or other locations around the city) and save yourself a lot of money.
