Das Frühstück hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Dies Auswahl ist groß, vielfältig und frisch. Alle Lebensmittel werden umgehend nachgefüllt, wenn sie zur Neige gegangen sind. Der Service ist nett und aufmerksam. Die Lage ist sehr gut. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind gut zu Fuß zu erreichen, insbesondere die Nähe zur Oper, zum Hauptbahnhof (kurze Transferzeit, flytoget Express) und zur Carl Johans Gate sind erwähnenswert. Zimmer: Die Dusche ist großzügig und die Armaturen sind leicht zu bedienen. Das Lichtsystem im Zimmer ist gutdurchdacht und einfach zu benutzen. Die Reinigung der Zimmer erfolgte teilweise während wir beim Frühstück waren, sehr angenehm.

We stayed for 3 nights in Oslo. Great location by the train station and within walking distance of Harbour activities like Opera House and Munch Museum. Not to mention Harbour cruises.
Hotel room small but comfortable. Unfortunately not overly quiet at our visit because of construction next door but they gave us some room credit when my husband complained about the noise.
Included breakfast was superb with dozens of choices for every diet requirement.

This is my second stay at Amerikalinjen, the first time I stayed an entire weekend. I had been looking forward to this for a while and was not disappointed. The hotel is very comfortable with great service around every turn.
We stayed in a superior room during a heat wave in southern Norway and was worried about feeling too warm. That was not a problem. The room was air conditioned and there was a fan there too.
Every day we got delicious cookies on a paper with the following days weather forecast. The bed and sheets are super comfortable. The bathroom wasn’t large, but the shower was roomy and there was great smelling body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. I even bought some to take home.
The breakfast was spectacular. You get a limited menu to order from, fresh pressed orange juice and a lovely buffet with among other things, fresh berries.
Amerikalinjen is my new favorite hotel. ❤️

Convenient location to many Oslo attractions and train station. The room had a view of the interior courtyard and was a little dark, but the quality of the amenities was very good. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Olga in the restaurant.

Location is good, the hotel is bad.

For the price and the fact it’s only a 4 star I thought it was really good. Very stylish, rooms were nice (not huge but good), gym is good, food is pretty good and the staff were really lovely. Only feedback id give is the room service menu could do with more options but what I did order was good. Location is also great, very central

The location is excellent, in center, very near to trains, buses and pedestrian streets. The style from the old American Line one was very good. Breakfast was excellent.

Location!!! Our room was very clean and comfortable (bed was wonderful). Breakfast had a nice selection of gluten free options.

Like the first time, excellent staff at reception, breakfast.

On the positive side, hotel is well located just across from airport train shuttle. Nice staff; good breakfast. Room equipped with quite nice modern bathroom, BUT our room itself was ridiculously small and poorly laid out - e.g., the one chair in the room was completely blocked by a huge plasma tv mounted on an easel! Bed so close to closet you had to edge in sideways! C’mon guys!

Nice hotel near to station within walking distance of waterfront. Be aware that there is no onsite parking. The hotel does have a discounted rate at Oslo-s parking next to thon opera hotel which we found on 4th attempt. Standard room is quite small but very clean and tidy. Highlight was the breakfast - stacks of choice and good quality

We chose the hotel to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, we booked hotel and flight with SAS as a three night package.
We had a warm welcome on arrival and a quick check-in. Our room was 417 on the side of the building.
The room was compact but had everything we could wish for. Impeccably clean, excellent lighting, plenty of sockets, and sufficient storage. There were plenty of hangers and space for clothes. A safe (easy to use), mini bar, kettle, coffee maker and plenty of capsules and tea bags. The king size bed was super comfortable and we slept well every single night. The fresh white lines and soft duvet were very luxurious.
The bathroom was wonderful, full size toiletries of excellent quality. The towels were plentiful, fluffy and white. A hairdryer, make up mirror, even a little tray for jewellery etc. The automatical ambiance light was great too. The shower was huge with rainhead and separate handheld shower head.
Breakfast was perhaps the best buffet breakfast I have ever had. The restaurant looks out onto the square and is very pleasant. The staff was lovely, quickly getting us seated and quickly serving coffee. As well as the buffet there was a small made to cook menu. The eggs benedict with salmon was outstanding! The buffet, especially for fish lovers was out of this world, salmon, herring, fish roe paté etc. The bread and pastries, fresh and delicious, there was fruit, yoghurt and even chia. We were never rushed and there was a lovely calm atmosphere.
On our final morning we requested the breakfast to takeaway as we had an early flight. Not as good as the standard breakfast but a nice detail!
The building is stunning, looking at it from the square it is really beautiful, and inside there are so many original features. It is so well situated, a few steps from the station with great train links to the airport. It’s also close to the main shopping area and lots of restaurants within walking distance.
I would certainly return to the hotel, great service, good food and a wonderful atmospheric building. I am truly in love.

My Mom and I stayed here for a couple of nights while we were in Oslo. The hotel is right by the main train station in Oslo and many sites and restaurants/shopping were walkable from the hotel. The rooms themselves were beautiful, clean and very quiet for sleeping.

Amerikalinjen is a beautifully restored hotel that has transformed a century-old office building into a stylish and character-filled place to stay. Its location couldn’t be more convenient—right next to Oslo Central Station, making it an ideal base for exploring the city and beyond.

The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, high-quality options to start the day. The staff were friendly, professional, and always happy to assist with our requests. I also appreciated the spacious, well-equipped fitness centre, which was one of the better hotel gyms we’ve used.

The only disappointment was our Superior Room. Despite the premium category, the ventilation was inadequate, making the room uncomfortably warm at night and resulting in poor sleep on both nights of our stay. This is something that really needs to be addressed, as it detracted from an otherwise very enjoyable experience.

Overall, I would recommend Amerikalinjen for its location, heritage, service, and facilities, but I hope management can improve the room ventilation to match the high standard of the rest of the hotel.

Great location, quiet rooms, comfortable bed, outstanding breakfast. Great fitness center.

We loved this hotel. The staff, concierge and breakfast servers were very attentive. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices, of breads, fruit, etc. My partner loved the herring, both kinds, that were offered. In addition they prepared omelets & other egg dishes.
A plus is that they are across the street from the train station. Our plane arrived close to midnight & we took the airport train to city center. It was late but we felt safe & people were helpful in letting us know where to get off.
They also provide nice terry cloth slippers that I was able to take with me.
I would not hesitate to stay here again.
