If location is everything to you and honestly, in Hanoi, it really is this place nails it.

Solare De Monte sits right in the heart of the Old Quarter, and the moment you step outside, the city just opens up to you. Coffee shops, bánh mì carts, phở spots, rice noodles, the water puppet theater, a park, a pagoda it’s all right there, walkable, findable, no planning required. We had about three days in Hanoi, and honestly we never once felt the need to order a ride. Everything we wanted was already within reach.

One thing worth knowing before you arrive: on weekends, the surrounding streets turn pedestrian-only. It’s actually lovely very local, very alive but just keep in mind that taxis won’t be able to pull up directly to the hotel. Plan accordingly, especially if you’re arriving with luggage.

Came in late at night? No stress. There are still shops and little eateries open around the clock. You won’t go hungry or feel stranded, even at midnight.

The hotel itself was genuinely lovely. The breakfast was a standout and I mean that sincerely, not in the “it was fine” way. Real options, fresh food, a solid spread of seafood (because yes, that’s exactly why people come to Southeast Asia), and enough variety that we looked forward to it every morning. The room was comfortable, well-kept, with daily housekeeping, fresh water replenished regularly, a good shower, and a fridge. There’s also a massage salon downstairs, which after a day of walking the Old Quarter is basically a gift.

Overall — if you’ve got a few days in Hanoi and you want to actually feel like you’re IN Hanoi, not just near it, this is the spot.

Heerlijk hotel midden in het old quarter. Het is echt een heerlijke plek om even rustig bij te komen van alle drukte. Het zwembad is herlijk en de mensen heel aardig.

The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, even going to the pharmacy to buy medicine for our son who was ill. Very good breakfast selection, included in the price. Lunch in the restaurant was also great. Perfect location in the old quarter of Hanoi. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Plenty of room in the shower/bathroom. Staff at the hotel are very helpful and treat you like royalty. Was a great place to stay and we felt, value for money

Zeer mooie accommodatie (met prachtige uitzichten) in de binnenstad van Hanoi.
Wat problemen gehad (simkaart, portemonnee achtergelaten in taxi..) omdat dit onze eerste locatie was na het landen in Vietnam, maar het personeel kon ons onmiddellijk helpen en heeft letterlijk alles helpen oplossen. Verder was het ontbijt verrukkelijk.

making it convenient for Beer Street, restaurants and exploring the surrounding area. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. One member of staff even kindly took me to the boat office when I was leaving, which I really appreciated.
My room was clean, comfortable and a good standard, with no problems during my stay. Breakfast had a nice selection and looked good, although I was limited in what I could eat because of my food allergies.
