The bathroom was very tired.the cold tap leaked , the bath was old
Location
Tired rooms particularly the bathroom. Shower over a bath tub .. scratchy sheets, very limited service for late night check in - even the cab driver noted this on arrival no assistance. Tea making facilities poor. This was a 5 star place and now apart from location it has been surpassed by so many better places to stay in Brisbane.
Very convenient location and very clean
The location is extremely convenience and central, co-located with the Central train station and in the CBD, close to shops and restaurants and the river. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable.
We only had one night at the hotel and we were looking forward to our stay because my husbane and I do not often get a night out alone together in Brisbane. Three things went wrong pretty early - our wifi did not work and had to be reset for our room, the hotel does not allow connection to privately owned apple TVs, we had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and they only told us that they did not have the muscles my husband ordered as an entre when they served my entre, and the waitress did not listen when we placed our orders and I got a different meal to the one I ordered. The staff at the restaurant made us feel like we had made the mistake, not them. We wanted to finish the night off with a bath and the plug did not work for the bath, and they could not get it to work after trying 3 different plugs. The staff did try to rectify things that were going wrong, but so many things should not have gone wrong in the first place. We have stayed at plenty nice hotels where the wifi works, apple TVs connect to the hotel TV, you get what you order in the restaurant and you can run a bath if the venue has a bath.
Very comfortable stay, location great, covered all our needs. Friendly, helpful staff. Amazing breakfast, so much to choose from. Couldn't ask for more.
Can not think of anything.
Great location. Easy to get to from the airport. Just hop on the air train, get off at Central and there’s an entrance to the Sofitel right there in the station. It is located just around the corner from the mall and walking distance to Southbank. Nice little pub downstairs.
Nothing to dislike.
The price for nights was extremely expensive, $1420. Was told upon arrival after getting an uber from the airport and after asking if they could do a better deal than booking.com was showing that there were no rooms left, even though booking.com showed rooms were available. While the staff went to speak with her manager, my wife and I then proceeded to reserve the room online only for the staff member to now say there is a room available only she cant offer a better rate but could have done so if i hadnt reserved the room. Then she proccessed my bank card costing an extra $20 in card fees instead of advising me to complete payment through booking.com where that wouldnt have happened. She also could have cancelled the reservation we had only mere moments ago had made and applied a better rate instead of $700 per night. The room didnt have a bath plug so had to call concierge for that and overall the room was very ordinary and not what I would have expected for the price. There was also no prices listed for the in room food and drinks, not sure what was complimentary if anything.
Understated luxury
Location mid city and right above Central station. Beds were extra comfortable. Breakfast was fabulous with attentive staff especially Alpha with her cheerful and helpful attitude made our stay extra special. Staff had luggage storage so we were able to attend appointments without worry about lugging bags with us. Pool was clean with added towels available. Loved the cotton bathrobes supplied, very useful.
The room could have had 2 business chairs. The lounge chair was very uncomfortable. 2 bedside tables would have helped instead of sharing one. A teaspoon too was missing.
The location was good.
The room.very basic we just paid for the brand. The quality of the room very disappointed. Usually when you pay over 400 per night you get better quality rooms. Not even water bottle in the room. First time at this hotel. I think it will be my last time. I am very frequent traveller.
