One spa was lovely.
Lack of signage or directions. We had treatments booked at spa but found check in information for spa bit vague- also disappointed with after treatment relaxation area- I expected much more luxurious surroundings, better lighting, magazines & complimentary drink other than lemon water. Did not realise we had to go back into spa to get wristbands for one spa access. Disappointed breakfast options at club lounge were not more fancy- thought there would have been better selection of pastries/ breads/ cooked breakfasts.
We really had a great experience at the Sheraton Grand. Firstly, the location was fantastic, away from the main road which meant not as much traffic noise. The lobby was filled with fresh flowers and very helpful staff. We had a beautiful well laid out room on the 7th floor, wonderful linens, and with the most amazing view of the Castle and Princess Gardens. It was a special birthday for my husband and the hotel did an amazing job with a welcome amenity. The breakfast and Happy Hour in the lounge were wonderful. Great value to be able to have a huge variety of appetizers and drinks included. Everyday I started my morning enjoying the delicious smoked salmon.
Loved the spa area. Very convenient location, friendly staff and comfortable rooms.
Lage ist super für Stadtbesichtigung
Der Spa ist nicht wie online suggeriert. Es gibt ein grosses Becken und eine Textilsauna...keinen Spa, nicht mal Wasser und Ruheraum für nach der Sauna. Es gibt einen extra Bereich für den man zusätzlich Eintritt zahlen muss, wo es anscheinend Whirlpool und mehr Saunen gibt. Der Zusatzeintritt war zu hoch, sollte für Hotelgäste kostenlos sein. Wir hatten das Hotel extra deswegen gebucht und hätten uns gerne wie geplant nach einem kalten Tag draußen in einem gemütlichen Spa aufgewärmt. Leider Fehlanzeige.
Centrally located!!
I stay in Edinburgh close to 80 nights a year for work and this is my favorite hotel. There are so many great things about the hotel , but the employees are definitely the biggest selling point.
From the minute we check in after a long travel day, the front desk , from Alexander , Isabelle, Tony, Jonny, Isaac - to eceryone checking us in , welcomes us and checks us into our rooms that are ready for us upon our arrival. It is so quick and seamless and just what a tired traveler hopes for!
The rooms are comfortable and castle view rooms are highly recommended.
The executive lounge has great drinks and snacks and it really feels so nice to come in and be welcomed by the friendly faces in such a pleasant, comfortableenvironment. Abigayle, Elona, Mims , Rose, Rebecca, Luca -in the past few days of our stay took such good care of us and always do. It is really a perfect way to
spend a couple of hours unwinding from the day before dinner. There is a restaurant and a bar/ restaurant in the hotel with great choices and a diverse menu with choices for lots of tastes.
The location of the hotel is perfect for areas of Edinburgh and it is easy to walk to the Royal mile and Prince’s Street. All in all , I really can’t say enough good things about this hotel !!
I frequently travel for work, so I spend numerous nights in hotels. In fact, I spend over 80 nights/year at this particular property alone. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. From Isabelle and Alex at the front desk to Abigail, Ilona, and Rebecca at the concierge lounge, everyone I’ve encountered has been exceptional.
However, there’s one issue that I’ve noticed consistently across all the rooms I’ve stayed in: the pillows. This isn’t an issue specific to this property; it’s a systemwide problem. The pillows are incredibly uncomfortable and lack support.
I kindly request that Marriott replace at least one of the four pillows in each room with a solid foam pillow. This simple change would greatly enhance the overall comfort of the rooms and improve the guest experience.
