I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Hyatt Regency Newport Beach West was concerning enough that I feel obligated to share it.
My sister and I were staying at the hotel when we were awakened around 1:30 a.m. by two intoxicated men shouting. We initially thought the noise was coming from the hallway, but quickly realized it was coming from the room directly next to ours.
As two young women traveling alone, this was unsettling. We attempted to call the front desk, only to discover that the room phone was not working. Because we had no way to contact hotel staff from our room, I was forced to leave in the middle of the night and go downstairs to report the issue in person.
The front desk employee appeared distracted and disengaged while I explained the situation, but assured me that security would be coming shortly. I returned to my room expecting the disturbance to be addressed. Instead, we waited approximately 20 minutes while the shouting and profanity continued uninterrupted. No one came to our floor, no one followed up with us, and the situation remained unresolved.
Eventually, I found myself in the unacceptable position of having to leave my room in my pajamas and knock on the neighboring guests' door myself. No hotel guest should ever be forced to personally confront intoxicated strangers because staff failed to respond to a reported disturbance.
I brought these concerns to hotel management after my stay and was disappointed by the unapologetic response I received. While the hotel acknowledged some of the issues, management maintained that security had been dispatched and declined to offer any compensation, despite the fact that the disturbance continued until I addressed it myself.
Based on the horrible service and lack of attention to serious safety concerns, I recommend strongly against booking this hotel and would absolutely not stay here again.
床品质量,早餐服务
Good and new property . Pleasant stay
Come stay with low expectations so your stay may be more pleasant. Beds are small, doubles so that tell you the rooms are small. House keeping and breakfast teams are pleasant and friendly. Pool is very basic , small and not inviting. It won't be my 1st choice when I'm back in Newport Beach. General manager is not accommodating with parking. I asked for comped parking with my Globalist status because I get free parking for staying at the Renaissance next door with the wedding event, but HARD NO from the GM. I chose to stay at the Hyatt regardless since I'm loyal to Hyatt, but won't be a next time.
The entry light goes on and off all night…even with one person and zero movement….bright ceiling lights woke me up all night long!!!!
Bright ceiling lights on and off all night, no hot water and very low water pressure in the shower
Disgraceful
Convenient
Delayed check-in
