Met expectations and would recommend anyone to try this for a short staycation.
Pros:

Great location, convenient for Kensington Gardens and Lancaster Gate station. Very clean rooms and bathroom facilities. Easy access to local cafes, bars and gastropubs.

Cons:

It wasn’t the biggest of rooms but enough if you are only looking for sleep time. Could be an issue if weather was duff.

Pros:

Everything was great except that the reception staff indicated a 100 pound hold taken from my credit card on checkin. It was actually $380 odd dollars - nearly double the amount suggested! The actual amount should be made clear up front. When I looked at my credit card to see what had actually been taken - I felt that the process was not transparent!
In the end the amount debited for food was $174.12. Also I never received any invoice showing what this amount was for. A little unprofessional!

Enjoyable Stay at Royal Lancaster, London
Pros:

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff! It was our 35th wedding anniversary and the staff made it a special experience. The rooms are very nice with coffee provided in the room. It is across the street from Kensington Gardens so plenty of opportunity for beautiful walks.

Location is close to downtown but doesn't have the traffic of downtown. Several of the Hop-on, Hop-off busses stop very near the hotel.

Nice hotel
Pros:

This is a nice hotel, its not as luxurious as say The Langham or The Lanesborough but its is nice and the staff are lovely. We had lunch in the bar and Monica was exceptional. The cheese was very tasty.
The only thing I would mention os the latte was £7, the glass it came in wasnt even full. This seems rather pricey, even for a five star. * also requested it extra hot and it came lukewarm warm. We certainly would not return for coffee or breakfast but possibly would for lunch.

Marvelous experience at Royal Lancaster London
Pros:

The hotel including restaurants was absolutely perfect. Wonderful location across from Hyde Park and very short walk to The Swan, a proper English pub.
The staff at the hotel will do everything to make the stay memorable. Tyana at the front desk really went out of her way at checkout to get us a much needed Diet Coke… thank you!
