We stayed here in November of 2025 as well as recently in August 2026. Additionally, my husband, who visits SA often to see his dad, usually stays here (or the St Anthony). My son is a huge fan of visiting the Alamo and this hotel is now officially one of the easiest hotels to stay at if you're going to visit the Alamo. They recently made an entrance out the riverwalk level where you can step out of the hotel and be at the new Alamo Welcome Center. Just go up some steps, and you're there!
Last November, we wanted to make sure to have a really good room for our family of five as we were going to be staying for 4-5 nights. Carolina and Mason were extremely patient and helpful with us. They were a pleasure and allowed us to change rooms. The 3rd floor Atrium Suite (we are Hyatt members so had an upgrade available) was nice but kinda dark... The 8th floor was much better, but seems all the rooms are quite generic/corporate looking. Still comfortable and fine for sleeping!
The lobby and location are the draws. Lots to see and walk around to. Access to the riverwalk is easier than easy.
Breakfast buffet (which was not available during our recent stays) is really decent with a great omelette station. Valet guys are fun and sociable.
A note on staff: It really depends who you get! As mentioned above we had amazing front desk staff helping us, who were generous with water bottles and their kindness. We have encountered a couple staff members who are very rigid with the complimentary waters. I get it - They're just following rules and doing their jobs... but, obviously, they're not the ones that keep us coming back! ;)
I loved my stay! The hotel is beautiful and has a relaxing atmosphere. The bar is nice, and the live music on Friday and Saturday nights was a great bonus. Being able to step right onto the Riverwalk was especially enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.
Convenience of location and cleanliness inside and out.
I liked everything
Best hotel location on the San Antonio River Walk; everything is a walk away. Nice, big rooms and excellent service in the cigar bar.
Very nice facility located right on the riverwalk downtown. The room and hotel was very clean. Getting in and out of the driveway on a weekend night is challenging due to the one way street. If you valet park be prepared for a long wait when requesting your vehicle on a weekend night. All the other amenities at the property are really good.
Great hotel, and exceptional staff. Truly appreciated. When an online travel discount website fouled up my reservation, their front desk staff was able to resolve it and get me into the hotel... they were exceptionally professional at their jobs, very friendly and helpful, and I knew they would be able to remedy the situation.
**Poor Customer Service & Unhelpful Staff**
I stayed at Hyatt Regency San Antonio August 4-6, 2026. While the location and room were fine, my customer service experience was extremely disappointing.
At checkout, the front desk staff promised to email me a receipt but never followed up—they didn't even ask for my email address. When I called Hyatt, it was a billing call center-type environment. I was told they didn't have my email address on file, so that's why they didn't email me a receipt.
They said I had to verify my card number to get my receipt emailed, which I provided. They said that isn't the correct card number, since I used Apple Pay. Next, it got more and more frustrating because they refused to give me a receipt at all and said there was no way to mail it or for me to EVER retrieve a receipt.
- My booking confirmation number "doesn't work and means nothing" to them since I booked on Capital One Travel.
- My American Express card information didn't match their system (because I'd used Apple Pay)
- There was "no way" for me to get a receipt—"at all, ever, period"
- I should call my bank or Apple Pay instead
None of this makes sense. A hotel should be able to look up a guest's stay by name, room number, and dates. Instead, I was deflected at every turn and made to feel like I was being unreasonably denied my own documentation.
I finally had to dig through my Apple Watch to find the transaction number myself. The process was frustrating and left me feeling like the hotel didn't want to help.
For a premium brand, this is unacceptable customer service. I would not recommend this property and will not be returning!! EVER!
The hotel was clean and staff were friendly and helpful. The proximity to the Riverwalk is AMAZING. A short walk (and view) to the Alamo was not expected and was a pleasant surprise.
The atmosphere. The Location. Very clean.
Loved our stay. I recommend if everyone isn't hardy breakfast eaters. You don't pay for buffet. You won't appreciate being charged $25 dollars plus tip per person when someone only gets coffee and fruit. Valet was convenient and quick. Especially convenient for someone in a wheelchair. They have an elevator that can take you down to the Riverwalk.
I actually liked it all.
How luxurious is was and felt comfortable

Once again, the Hyatt Regency San Antonio delivered first class service! Great location that is very peaceful amidst the fun and flavor of the riverwalk. We look forward to our next stay!
Really enjoyed my stay. The Alamo is across the street and it is the best location on the Riverwalk. Short walk to the Convention center.
The rooftop pool was nice and cool even with the August San Antonio heat. However, it was small and dated.
Nice and pretty
Had a good experience until a valet employee decided to steal my perfume. I had just bought worth over $100. Tried reporting it and they still haven’t reached out to me.
The staff was amazing. The night manager saved our vacation. The staff alone won a new Hyatt fan.
