Pros:

Beautiful views over the river, spacious clean and quiet rooms.

Cons:

I wouldn’t recommend having breakfast there. Or dining altogether. Felt like paying restaurant prices for processed food, overloaded with sugar. Despite multiple messages and discussing it upon arrival with staff, I still couldn’t get a preferred room. Also, I would consider upgrading irons - could barely press my clothes and it was a business trip. Very dated and somewhat random design.

Restful Pit-stop
Pros:

I loved the clean and calm environment of the hotel amidst a busy area. I especially enjoyed having breakfast downstairs each day at Paperback Tavern. The food was great each morning, and our server, Rachid, made me feel very welcome throughout my stay.

Disappointed
Pros:

Completely dissatisfied. Apparently booking a room and prepaying it do not guarantee you will get the room. No apologies No concessions.

★★★★★ Excellent Stay - Great for Business or Family Travel
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Regency Boston / Cambridge and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Boston area.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, providing easy access to both Cambridge and downtown Boston. Whether you're traveling for business, sightseeing, college visits, or a family vacation, it serves as an excellent home base.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very well maintained. The layout provided plenty of room to relax, work, and unwind after a busy day. The beds were comfortable, and the overall atmosphere was quiet and welcoming.

One unique feature we really enjoyed was the hotel's distinctive elevator system, which added a fun and memorable touch to the property. It's the little details like this that help set the hotel apart from others.

The staff was professional, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay. The hotel was clean, well cared for, and offered all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit.

Overall, the Hyatt Regency Boston / Cambridge offers an excellent combination of location, comfort, service, and value. Whether you're in town for business meetings, exploring the city with family, or visiting one of the many nearby universities, this hotel is a fantastic choice. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to the Boston area.

The view is directly to the Charles River. Had a smooth check-in and check-out done by Mamello. For check-in after 12 am have to make a call to the hotel else they will cancel your reservation

Cons:

It a bit far from restaurants even though there is a cafe and restaurants in the hotel

No Fenway Package
Pros:

This hotel was nice and clean, The rooms were as expected and the beds were comfortable. We had booked an extra package called the “Fenway Package”. This was due to its close proximity to Fenway Park and our intent to go see the Red Sox. We paid extra for this.

Upon arrival it became very clear that nobody at the hotel knew what this package was. Several staff seems confused and no offers were made to make the booking correct.

Don’t book this package, it’s a waste of money.

Boston Trip and staying at Cambridge
Pros:

Location is great, close to MIT and Harvard. High demand due to those universities and the city view, especially for those rooms with a balcony. Rooms are very average and outdated. Value was OK after the fee adjustment by hotel management. Otherwise, overpriced. In general, clean. No noise issues. The hotel's design is interesting, and you expect it to create noise. When you do not have any business with the schools and not really need to city on your balcony, then there is no need to stay at this hotel. There are better ones in the city.

Just horrible on every level. The room was damaged, small. The food was vile. The staff not helpful. Stay away. Oh the extra fees were never disclosed to me before booking.

Frustrating Experience (again) but decent
Pros:

I like staying at this hotel and do so once a year. You can see my previous reviews. This time I was kindly upgraded as a globalist to university suite. I love this suite. It's big, comfortable and one that would be worth paying for frankly.

I also like that globalists can get snacks like protein bars, sandwiches, Greek yogurt in the coffee bar rather than eating a full breakfast in the restaurant. This is a great benefit especially as I typically leave before breakfast even open to get to the airport.

But here's why in frustrated. Despite the great upgrade and generally friendly staff, they missed my wake up call again (2nd time In 3 stays). Last time I almost missed my trans Atlantic flight.

This trip, I was actually so stressed they'd miss my wake up call again at 4:35 am that I didn't sleep well. Fortunately, I didn't sleep well because they missed my wake up call again!

They also charged me the destination fee when checking out which is supposed to be waived for globalists. So while I was rushing to the airport late (again) because of their missed wake up call, I had to check the bill and grt it fixed for what seemed like an eternity (it wasn't long but felt long as I was worried about missing my flight).

All I got was an apology (sorry, my mistake) for the missed wake up call. And I should never be charged destination fee as a globalist. That was taken off with an oh.

So, while I like this hotel, and want to stay here again, I'm not sure I can frankly if I have an early morning flight and need a wake up call. And there is no service recovery. I feel like they should have called a taxi for me and had it waiting and paid for to take me to the airport or give points as a service recovery. But I didn't get anything.

I messaged my concierge globalist about what happened. She said she'd message the hotel management but I never got a reply. I did text hotel and all they said was sorry.

Missing a wake up call is a critical part of a stay. And so is getting a good night sleep. My dear of not being woken up in time was warranted but as a result I didn't sleep well. I sure wish they'd automate the system. And they should have given a service recovery in some way.

Will I stay here again? Yes because staff is friendly and rooms nice. But I'd only do it if I don't have a super early morning flight where I need a wake up call.
