Enjoyed my stay. I was in attendance for a conference. My room was always clean during my 4-night stay, and the hotel is perfectly positioned next to shopping and restaurants. The staff was extremely friendly.
Todo está muy limpio
It’s super close to everything
Showed up early to check in with no problem at all, valet was right on the ball and helped with my disabled wife. Bell service was right there to help with the luggage and get me to check-in. At the front desk I was immediately welcomed as a Globalist and without hesitation was offered an upgrade to a nice suite overlooking the Queen Mary. This was my first time in Long Beach and was pleasantly surprised at the room, the view, the area, food options yo name it. This is definitely a convention center hotel and luckily had no convention going on.
Upon entering our suite I was shocked at the view. Overlooking the bay and the Queen Mary. Room was very spacious, had a desk (I've seen fewer and fewer in hotels lately, so I was happy to have one). My only problem with the whole time was the bathroom. Only one person could be in there at a time so it made for a little issue but was overcame by the beauty and value of the place.
We hit the very well equipped gym and weight room. Went for a nice walk after and then had a nice 15% discounted dinner at one of the places across the street that you get with you resort fee. (which was waived of course).
Had a great nightcap in the bar next to the marketplace. In the morning I went down and got a great breakfast to go, everything is al a cart except on weekends, but the food was made while you waited and the staff was cheerful and talkative which made the wait time go away.
This was actually my 5th Hyatt Regency in the past month and I have to say probably my favorite overall experience so far. Well done.
Everything the staff from check in to maintenance! The cleanliness and comfort of our room! Will continue booking with Hyatt !
The Hyatt Regency is a convienent place to stay before going to Catalina Island. Access to many dining options. Great friendly service!
Yes I did very nice
I love everything
The view
It was the location for my conference, we were able to walk to surrounding restaurants and shops. View of the Queen Mary and harbor from my room.
Room was pretty outdated and ran down peeling wall paper, stains on the furniture and super hard bed. Room was clean, area was great quiet and felt safe. Staff was friendly and helpful.
We had some free Hyatt nights that we used here. The hotel is a full-service hotel and is pretty nice. They charge a $30/resort fee, which I always find a little bogus, but they do give you a ten dollar credit at the market/restaurant and a free movie, which I would use just to offset that money-making charge. I would have preferred a credit on the exorbitant parking fee. Staff was very friendly and helpful. While the room is nice enough, it is pretty small—more like a New York City hotel room. The bathroom isn’t large enough for two people to brush their teeth at the same time—or even large enough to accommodate two people at the same time. It was quiet for the most part—we could hear traffic, but it didn’t keep us up at night. We could hear other rooms when they opened/closed the blinds.
Very nice place with a great location to Long Beach activities. The staff was friendly. There is a nice cafe for coffee and a quick breakfast in the lobby area.
Stayed here as a World of Hyatt Globalist and unfortunately the experience fell well short of what the brand should deliver.
The most glaring issue was cleanliness. The bed appeared dirty on arrival — not what anyone expects walking into their room, let alone at a Hyatt. The bathroom hadn’t been fully restocked either: soap was missing entirely and the shampoo bottle was empty. Easy things to get right that simply weren’t.
Bedding quality also stood out for the wrong reasons. The blanket was thin and cheap-feeling, and the pillows were noticeably low quality. Not what I associate with the Hyatt sleep experience.
The Globalist breakfast was the other low point — inedible is the honest word for it. I’ve had Globalist breakfasts at properties all over the world and this was an outlier.
Long Beach is a great area and I wanted to like this hotel, but between the cleanliness lapse, the bare-bones bathroom, the bedding, and the food, it didn’t add up to a stay I’d repeat or recommend. There are other Hyatt options in the LA area that uphold the brand standard far better.
We had an absolutely great stay here! The hotel itself is wonderful, clean, and in a perfect location for getting around and exploring the area.
What truly made our experience unforgettable, though, was the incredible hospitality. Luna, who handled our check-in, was absolutely awesome! Right from the start, she was incredibly welcoming, warm, and professional. Beyond the seamless check-in process, she went above and beyond by providing us with a fantastic curated list of local places to visit and amazing spots to eat. Her recommendations completely elevated our trip.
It is rare to find front desk service that is both genuinely warm and incredibly knowledgeable. Luna is an absolute asset to the team, and we will definitely be staying here again next time we are in town. Highly recommended!
