Had a quick one-night stay here with the family last Saturday, and it was fantastic! The location right by the marina is unbeatable, the vibe is lively yet relaxing, and the staff made check-in a breeze. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway!
The hotel is in good location, but very loud and noisy. We have paid for the upgrade to stay on high floor, but it didn't help as the windows are old. It was impossible to sleep. The sleeping sofa was old and like a boat, it was impossible to sleep on it. The water in the sink was either hot or warm, never cold.
We were excited for a family getaway with our 2- and 4-year-old and chose the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay largely because of its proximity to SeaWorld and the advertised shuttle between the hotel and park.
Overall, the stay was just okay. Our room was comfortable enough but definitely showing signs of wear, including fraying furniture and rust around some of the bathroom fixtures. The SeaWorld shuttle also ended up being much less useful than expected. It didn't start running until about an hour after the park opened and only operated during limited hours. With two young kids who were up and ready to go early, we ended up driving instead.
There was no room service, and breakfast was fine but nothing particularly memorable. The poolside food was good and had plenty of options for the kids, but the pool itself was incredibly crowded. Only one waterslide was operating during our stay, and the line for it was genuinely longer than some of the ride lines we'd encountered at SeaWorld. We decided to skip it altogether.
Unfortunately, the biggest issue came when we returned from SeaWorld after housekeeping had cleaned our room and found our back sliding door left **wide open**. Since we were on the first floor with direct access out toward the marina, this was a significant security concern. Our room was also filled with flies and mosquitoes that remained there throughout the night.
The location is convenient for SeaWorld, but between the condition of the room, limited shuttle schedule, overcrowded pool, and especially the security issue with our door, the stay fell well short of what we expected from a Hyatt Regency.
Excellent hotel with good facilities. Rooms very clean and housekeeping very helpful. Only slight issue was the barking sea lions on the Marina which occasionally kept us awake

We booked our stay as a "guest of honor", which we confirmed when we checked in. However, we've been charged extra for perks like breakfast buffet. I've called 3 times and got transferred to a line where nobody picks up. This is not what we expect from Hyatt.
Great hotel in a perfect location. Easy access to everything from the beach to downtown. Very clean rooms and an amazing view from the room.
Reserved room wasn’t available, room given had dirty shower, bed was very very used, walls were thin, towels smelled, the sink had a bug in it everyday.

From the moment we pulled up, Jei at the valet greeted us with such a warm, welcoming attitude—he was truly a breath of fresh air and a fantastic first impression.
When we checked in and realized our room wasn't quite high as we’d liked, the front desk team went above and beyond. Without hesitation they happily moved us to a higher floor with a spectacular view of the marina—completely free of extra fees or hassle.
But the cherry on top? Walking into that gorgeous room to find complimentary bottled water! Anyone who travels knows how frustrating it is to get nickeled-and-dimed with $6 water charges. When you work hard to afford a nice trip, small gestures like that make a massive difference.

Wunderschön gelegen direkt am Hafen. Schönes Hotel mit 3 kleinen Pools und Wasserrutschen.
Es waren leider der Whirlpool und ein Pool mit Wasserrutsche gesperrt.
Das Zimmer war leider total feucht, so dass unser ganzes Gewand feucht war, die Bücher Wellen schlugen. Haben leider viel zu spät um ein Entfeuchtungsgerät gefragt.
Really enjoyed Mission Bay and the amenities and perks of my stay here with discounted single day activities and free cruise on the bay. Pools were fine with the kids and hot tub was readily available.
Great hotel with amazing views and the peaks. S’mores and a movie at the pool and a boat ride around the bay were all included and water slides for the kids. I will say save your money and do not reserve cabana
