Currently in a room and the air condition continues to shut off while room doesn't reach desired set temperature. Maintenance came up after the first call telling me to change the thermostat from Auto to High(fan). This did not work and it continues to shut off including at night when I found myself a sweaty mess and the room at 78 degrees. Called 2 more times w/o response or fix. AI generated search of reviews shows this is a persistent issue. This is a programmatic issue as I have stayed at hotels before where they do this to save $. This is my first experience at a hyatt hotel (marriott lifetime platinum) and have to say I won't be staying here. Good thing I got this room on points from an all inclusive vacation recent stay. Would be pissed if I paid directly for it. Wouldn't recommend coming here in the summer months so buyer beware!
Excellent location in Chicago, starting with the reservation contact to check in and throughout my stay the hotel exceeded my expectations for room quality, food, beverage and staff
Great location 7 block walk from blue line from ohare. Just a few blocks to Millenium Park. Also walking 🚶♂️ pretty easy to Navy Pier and Field Museum. Food was outstanding for our 500+ attended banquet and reception. Room well maintained for comfortable sleep.
clean updated room, convenient location to attractions and Michigan Ave, responsive staff, timely room cleaning service
Nothing more perfect than the Hyatt. With 2036 rooms it is the biggest Hyatt in the chain just perfect from start to finish. You won't go wroJust perfect from start to finish. I had drinks at Big Bar, I ate at Stetsons, the market place had everything I needed, American Craft has a great variety. The lobby is large and open and you will feel at home from beginning to end. No wonder so many of the staff have been there for 20, 20, 25 years! It was fantastic. Truly one of the best stays I have had in years and my room was incredible. I overlooked the river and looked right up MI avenue. I can't wait to be back! Well done!
Hyatt Regency Chicago was great. Great customer service and anticipated my needs. Restaurants service was also top notched and food was good. Received a call in the afternoon unexpectedly from staff member to do a wellness check and see if I needed anything. Location is perfect and in walking distance for shopping, restaurants, and site seeing. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Top notch staff and I felt like I belonged there. Every staff person I interacted with was friendly and treated me like they wanted to help me but not because they wanted a tip, because they just wanted to help people. The hotel is a beautiful property. The American restaurant (not sure the full name but it starts with American) had a few specific Vegan options called out in a special section on the menu. The Cauliflower Risotto was divine! I originally thought I was booked at the Hyatt Regency McCormick so showed up there first. When I got to this location on Wacker, I explained the situation to the front desk staff. They were very sweet and later that night I had a card in my room with a nice note acknowledging my situation. The card offered me a free beverage and food item from the Market store for my inconvenience. The hotel manager also called me later that night to make sure I had everything I needed. The shower was great - allowing the handheld to be able to be a second showerhead kind of a massager. The toilet paper had a cute little butterfly on it too (see pictures). I tried to keep it because it was so sweet and I'm sure someone spent time putting it together but it fell apart when I took it off the roll. Definitely somewhere I will come back to again and again!
location is excellent
For the price, bare bone amenities, empty fridge, limited coffee, not even a glass!
My experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The staff was unhelpful and unwilling to accommodate even reasonable requests, which made our stay unnecessarily frustrating. In addition, the pricing was exceptionally high and did not reflect the level of service or overall experience provided.
For families traveling with children, I would not recommend this hotel. It lacked the amenities, flexibility, and welcoming atmosphere that most families look for when traveling. Given the poor service and excessive cost, I do not believe this hotel offers good value for the money.
During a business event at this hotel, we witnessed a situation that created a very negative and uncomfortable atmosphere.
We observed a staff member being loudly and aggressively spoken to by a banquet manager in front of guests. The interaction was clearly audible and visibly disruptive, and it negatively impacted the overall environment of the event.
As guests, we found the behavior completely unprofessional. The incident involved a server who appeared to be treated in a disrespectful manner during service.
We later asked about the situation out of concern and were told the manager responsible for banquet operations was involved, and that her name was reportedly Marcy (Banquet Mananger).
The atmosphere created by this interaction was inappropriate for a hospitality setting and left a strong negative impression on the event experience.
Based on what we personally observed and heard, this does not reflect the standards expected in a professional hotel environment. It affected our perception of the venue and its management culture.
We would be hesitant to return or recommend this venue for future business events unless meaningful changes are made.
My family and I stayed at the hotel for a family vacation. The location was great. It was near Magnificent Mile and many restaurants and museums. We were able to easily walk or take a short bus ride for the museums. The hotel charges a destination fee, but they do give you a $25/day credit to use in their restaurants which was nice. The room was comfortable and clean. Overall it was a good experience and I would recommend for a stay in Chicago.
Great hotel in a lovely area. Very clean, and basically everything you need is available in the hotel. It's in walking distance to many of the main attractions of Chicago. The Hyatt team was extremely accommodating.
Our second time in this hotel. It was again a great stay. Our view was fantastic. The service was great. The room was spacious and always clean. All of the staff were friendly.
