Grand hotel with nice rooms, restaurants and steps away from the scenic Chicago River
Pros:

My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend at the Hyatt regency Chicago. Room was relaxing with a nice view of the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. The hotel was grand and vibrant with nice restaurants. Staff was very polite and very accommodating from check in to check out

I love Chicago River area
Pros:

Used as base for exploring river area. The river area and the walk are all well worth the visit as was the rest of the down town, magnificent mile experience. A little noisy, but not unexpected for a city full of life at all hours.

The location is tough to beat, especially if your room has a view of the river.
Pros:

Great property and great location! Short walk to nearly everything. We always try to stay here when we visit Chicago. Our room had an awesome view of the river, Chicago Tribune, Wrigley building etc... The staff at this Hyatt property are very friendly and hospitable. Special thanks to Raymond and Sebastian at the front desk, and Arturo at the valet. Only thing missing is a pool! Can't wait for our next stay.

It's the "Hyatt Regency" for a Reason!
Pros:

Couldn't ask for a better experience. The employees were extremely accommodating and helpful and very willing to assist with anything needed.
Location was great and the people were amazing! Look forward to the next stay for sure!!!!

Top Notch Experience of Chicago
Pros:

We had a wonderful experience, got the bed and breakfast package. We loved our breakfast; plenty of variety each day on the buffet. Hotel is in within walking distance of American Writers Museum and Art Institute plus Riverwalk.

Awesome five night stay
Pros:

A friend and I recently spent 5 nights at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for a fun girls trip. The location was awesome and provided easy access to the Riverwalk and many different sites, parks, museums, etc. The nearest Metra train was about 2 blocks and the Ventra (metro) was just a bit further. All the staff we encountered was pleasant and helpful and food at the Market and American Craft restaurant were excellent for hotel dining. The Market was open very late which was good if you were returning from a long day. I would not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Chicago.

Phenomenal stay
Pros:

I tend to really enjoy Hyatt properties, and this stay certainly did not disappoint! Even as the largest Hyatt in the world, they haven't fallen short on top-notch hospitality.

From the start, check-in was a breeze thanks to a friendly and welcoming front desk agent. He was super friendly and welcoming. My room was spotlessly clean, and I really appreciated the updated, modern decor.

For a hotel of this massive scale, it was the thoughtful details that truly impressed me, like how surprisingly fast the elevators arrived every single time I stepped out of my room. There were great bars and restaurants within the hotel as well.

The location in the heart of the city is unmatched; I was able to walk to pretty much everything I wanted to see, so zero complaints there. I loved my time here and look forward to staying again!

Beautiful
Pros:

The Hyatt is a beautiful hotel that's located across from the Riverwalk. It's located within walking distance to many of the attractions. The only complaint I have is regarding the bed. The mattress was so soft. Too soft for my back.

The Hyatt Regency is ghetto!
Pros:

That it was downtown close to the River walk.

Cons:

From when I was there a few years ago, it has degraded. Unfortunately too many unconcerned black ppl. And I’m black. Young ppl all over the place, jumping on the elevator scared the BeJesus out of me!!! I will never return. The guest was comfortable, very clean and was up high. And I smelled cigarette smoke!!!! A huge negative for me!!

Great stay
Pros:

Great stay again in 2026 for a night. The club amenities have been downgraded since March so disappointment with one hot food item at night. They used to have a soup and hot food. Dessert not brought out until like 8 pm. Used to be out at opening 530. Room awesome with fab view. Location is the best.
