We loved the location
It was extremely loud from the street, but also there was a block of at least two rooms across from us that were very noisy. And oddly enough, there was a young man that sat outside one of the rooms in a rolling chair ALL night1 meaning overnight. It didn’t feel safe- it made us wonder what was going on in the room. It was weird.
There are hotel stays you forget, and there are hotel stays that stick with you because of one person who genuinely cared. That’s when you go out of your way to actually write a review. For this stay, that person was Justin at the front desk.
The room was clean and comfortable. Self-parking is available across the street for $12, and valet is $30 per night. But the real reason this stay stood out was the service.
From the moment I arrived, Justin was everything you hope to find at a front desk and rarely do. He was warm without being over the top, professional without being cold, and helpful in a way that felt completely natural. He was upbeat, easy to talk to, and made every interaction feel smooth.
What made him exceptional was not just his personality, but the confidence and consistency behind it. He answered questions clearly, handled details with care, picked up on things before you had to ask, and stayed composed whether the lobby was quiet or busy.
That combination of genuine warmth, confidence, and steady professionalism is what separates good hospitality from great hospitality. Justin did not just meet the standard.
He raised it.
I sincerely hope his leadership team and corporate office recognize what they have in him. He is a true asset to this hotel, and someone with his instincts and character will go far in this industry. Guests notice people like Justin, and they come back because of them.
Hotel is extremely run down and old. In severe need of updating. It clearly hasn’t been taken care of in years. We were on 14th floor and the window in our room is about to fall out onto the street. Extremely noisy hotel!! Terrible rest! Everything is EXTREMELY old. Towels are very thin and worn, stains were on duvets in our room, bathroom is in horrible shape. Recommend avoid this hotel
The proximity to Rupp Arena can’t be beat!
I feel for the price it could use a refurbish of the rooms. The furniture is a little scratched up and just could use some freshening up. The pool was colder than we would have liked also.
Very friendly hospitality. Reservation desk can be very slow, but staff is helpful and friendly. We were very enthusiastically greeted by a tall fellow with cool glasses at the reservation desk. We can't remember his name, but he helped us several times during our week's stay. We dined a few times at the Blue Fire restaurant. Food was okay and expensive as is most hotel dining. One lady in particular stood out to us. Her name was Leonia. At one time the restaurant was extremely full and Leonia greeted everyone with a huge smile and was very courteous even though she must have been frantic with all the people (some of them quite rude). She never let the stress affect her at all which made our dining experience pleasurable.
Great place to stay when visiting the Rupp Arena. All the staff were amazing and our room was very clean and beds were awesome.
Terrible parking, you have to walk to get into the hotel, rooms need fixing, bathroom in poor condition and needs updating, noise level is very loud all night, hearing the traffic and ambulances, the room was 2 hot, had holes in the wall
Proximity to Rupp Arena, speed of elevator and the fact you had to use the key card to get to your floor.
Nothing
Great location, great staff!
It’s in need of some maintenance. Walls need repainting, carpet needs to be replaced. It needs some old.
Very comfortable rooms. Excellent service by Peter at the front desk and by the shuttle van drivers. Excellent location. Would visit again. Thank you.
The bathrooms
Great location and amenities
Parking
Underwhelmed. I checked in after midnight, was given my room key only to find out after arriving at my 9th floor room with my bags that my room had not been cleaned. Had to lug everything back down to the lobby to get an actual clean room. They advertise a 24 hour gym on their website. It does not open until 5 am. If you want a treadmill, arrive before it opens. They only have 1 and it’s not going to last long. Felt like it was going to fall apart at any moment. If you value a clean room and a well equipped 24 hour gym stay somewhere else.
