Location
Unclear pool closing time. Should have a time that it closesjust as they have a time it opens. Sunset is subjective
Reception folks helpful, all staff acknowledged us and chatted pleasantly, young lady at coffee shop delightful. Outdoor pool a bonus!
Nasty trash at elevator remained there for 2 days
TV useless without casting to my phone which was an ordeal. So I gave up. One of my pleasures is a chilly hotel room, propped up in bed watching tv. The other stations were awful.
Everyone on the staff was very accommodating and nice. Great people and atmosphere

Location was great.
There were too many dogs allowed into the facility and it made our stay very uncomfortable, disappointing and definitely not recommending to my family and friends. The worst part was seeing a bird flying around the breakfast
buffet in the Roost restaurant. That was absolutely disgusting and the food inspector would have shutdown the restaurant for that activity. I was expecting a lot more from this hotel for the money we paid.
We booked this hotel expecting a four-star experience for my birthday weekend and the 4th of July. Instead, we found a property that can’t seem to handle the basics.
The first impression set the tone. Trash was left sitting by the elevator, and a smashed waffle remained on the floor for three consecutive days and counting without anyone bothering to clean it up. If a mess in one of the hotel’s busiest areas can sit untouched for days, it doesn’t inspire confidence in what guests can’t see.
The pool was surprisingly difficult to find, and once we finally did, the disappointment continued. There wasn’t a single umbrella or shade poolside to escape the sun. The metal edging around the pool became dangerously hot, making it uncomfortable—and potentially unsafe—to walk around barefoot. For a hotel that presumably expects guests to spend time poolside, this seemed like an astonishing oversight. No F&B service either. A common expectation at a 4-star hotel.
Even the advertised conveniences fell short. The on-site coffee shop was closed all day on the Fourth of July—not just for part of the afternoon, but for the entire holiday. Guests looking for a morning coffee or a quick bite had no option on the property and were simply out of luck. Closing one of the few guest amenities on a major holiday, when occupancy is likely at its highest, speaks volumes about the hotel’s priorities.
Then came the rooms.
The first room assigned to us had a broken deadbolt, and the door was just propped open because it wouldn’t secure properly. That’s not an inconvenience—it’s a basic safety issue.
After reporting it, we were moved to an apology room. Unfortunately, the replacement was almost as baffling. A structural pillar was actually located inside the room, blocking the middle of the window. It wasn’t outside obstructing the view—the column literally occupied part of the room itself.
The bathroom appeared to have been designed without anyone ever using it. The toilet sat so close to the bathtub that it felt cramped and awkward, while the toilet paper holder was positioned so far away that even two adults over five feet tall couldn’t reach it without lifting up and leaning. It’s difficult to believe anyone tested this layout before approving it. Room never got cool despite polar blasts in the hallways.
Perhaps the most disappointing part of the stay was the staff’s attitude. None of these issues seemed to surprise anyone. The reactions suggested they were already aware of the property’s shortcomings and had simply accepted them as normal rather than addressing them.
A four-star hotel should offer attention to detail, pride in maintenance, and an experience that feels polished. This property delivered none of those things. It wasn’t one isolated problem—it was a pattern of neglect, poor design, deferred maintenance, and a lack of urgency from the people responsible for fixing it.
This hotel may have four stars on paper, but will never earn them without a head to toe overhaul.
I really wanted to like this property.
Positives: the location is fantastic on Main Street, it’s about .4 miles to the park. Many wonderful eateries around. The staff is friendly and fantastic! The lobby is beautiful. The bed is comfortable.
Cons: our pillows look like they’ve seen better days and they are flat as pancakes. We’ve set the temp in our room to 66F but the AC temp won’t go below 70F. My biggest pet peeve is the cleanliness of the common areas. Trash, crumbs and clumps of hair have been on floor in front of the elevator since yesterday. Additionally as related in other reviews the room layout is strange. BUT the bathroom is downright weird. There is one tiny hanger for shower towels. I had to put my towel over the door. The toilet paper is 2.5 feet from the toilet…it’s a stretch! And maybe I’m spoiled by Marriott and Hilton BUT the World of Hyatt charges you $6 a bottle for water in your room. At this price point you can provide free water in the rooms.
Horrible ac. Set on 75, took from 5:30p until 3am to reach 70. Yes it was in 80s outside but still to cool off a small room it should not take that long. Subpar service at check in with long wait. Hallway exterior was hot and needs updating.
The Hotel felt very worn. The wallpaper was peeling, ac was loud, all furniture was scratched up. The carpet looked dirty. We were a bit disappointed in the overall condition
Location is great, but the air conditioning in our room was poor. It was always way cooler in the hallways. Temp would not fall lower than 70°-73° with a box fan in our room.
bed was good, clean
was told I would have a connecting room with family, but did not get it and was on opposite ends of the hall. AC did not cool the room below 73 until I walked down to desk (since no phone response) and they told me to set on high and set to 64. By the mid of the night it had cooled to 68
Faucet wasn’t fixed after three calls. Room stayed at 74 degrees even though I had it set at 65. Bitten by a spider overnight. $6 for a bottle of water. No refrigerator.
Fine. The hotel was nice, but I prefer a hotel that includes breakfast. The hallways were freezing! Side of beef freezing.
The Room was clean and tidy. The Hotel itself was large and beautiful. But there were very little options for Breakfast for Gluten Free and lower sugar diets. No food fridges in the room. The fridge clearly stated they aren’t meant for food. Only drinks. No microwaves in the room. One microwave at the end of the hall by the ice machine. Parking is in the garage and a pretty far walk. Otherwise the hotel is right downtown near a lot of shopping and other restaurants that were mostly closed on Sundays. Staff were nice. When there is a conference, getting an elevator was an issue. Long lines. No stairs available to Guests.
Location
The bathrooms need fresh caulking and shower walls needs a good scrubbing down. Down blankets needs to be replaced, you literally can see through them
Awful hotel. There was no AC, room did not get below 74 degrees. The outlets didn’t work, my wife couldn’t dry her hair which was my problem and the hotel staff was zero help. The sheets were nasty, stains on carpet, and took them all day and 5+ calls to drop off more towels
Rooms are old but most importantly, beastly hot. Temp controlled. The hallways are extremely cool but once you hit your room, the Sahara desert appears. Nights were just impossible. This is the South with high humidity and heat. Shower spits at you…..no pressure whatsoever and bonus was the holes in my sheets, which did not even fit the bed. Front desk staff were clueless about basic questions. Bar was great! You will need it if you stay there.
Hotel is run down. Halls have foul smell. Room bathrooms smell like bleach. Sheets feel like sandpaper. Hotel bar closes at 10:30 PM on Friday night and has only a single bartender. Our experience was so bad, we skipped our 2nd night and booked another hotel.
