Great location
Pros:

Location, breakfast and the service of Carlo the waiter as always

Cons:

For the money it was nice to have a balcony but room and bed were very, very small, no comfortable chair to relax. Seems like you’re paying a premium purely for a balcony.

Pros:

The location of hotel is perfect, near a lot of different cafe and restaurants. Also opposite is canal cruise point, differebt museams. Also i like the breakfest.
Thank for staff to upgraiding our room. We have room with balcony and it is amazing. Every day i sit there and enjoy life.
The bed and the pillows very comfy. I slept there like an angel

We love the Amsterdam American and will continue to book there for future trips but I’ll be more mindful of my room choi
Pros:

Best location in Amsterdam and the staff, as always, was awesome!

Cons:

I made the mistake of upgrading to a larger room than we usually book. The hotel has undergone a renovation since we were there four years ago. The larger room had a lot of space, but the configuration was confusing (the toilet was next to the entry door, which is quite a walk from the bed when you wake in the middle of the night to use it). The only seating (besides the bed and a rolling office chair) was a small, uncomfortable couch/sofabed. The television placement was odd and not at all conducive to watching while relaxing after a day of walking around the city.
