Pros:

Allgemein muss man anerkennen, dass das Management und vor allem das Personal sich größte Mühe geben, den Gästen einen schönen Aufenthalt zu ermöglichen. Das ist bei dem doch deutlich in die Jahre gekommenen Gebäude und besonders dem Interieur nicht einfach.
Kurz gesagt: Lage top (10min zu Fuß in die Altstadt), Personal superfreundlich, Frühstück bestens, Betten bequem, sauber.
Wer den Charme der 90er liebt, fühlt sich hier wohl 😉

Cons:

Allgemein ist das Haus dringend renovierungsbedürftig. Teppiche abgenutzt, Wände fleckig, Badarmatur angerostet.
Allein die Telefone in den Zimmern sind eine Reise wert...

Maximal 3 Sterne Hotel !
Pros:

Positiv hervorzuheben sind das völlig ausreichende Frühstücksbuffet sowie die wunderschöne Altstadt von Zagreb, die absolut einen Besuch wert ist.

Cons:

Mein Aufenthalt im The Westin Zagreb war leider eine große Enttäuschung.

Das Hotel wurde 1975 als InterContinental eröffnet und wirkt heute, als hätte die Zeit irgendwann in den 1990er-Jahren angehalten. Die Zimmer sind deutlich in die Jahre gekommen: loser Teppichboden, sich lösende Tapeten, unangenehmer Geruch und eine insgesamt abgewohnte Einrichtung. An manchen Stellen gewinnt man den Eindruck, als könne jeden Moment Josip Broz Tito persönlich durch die Lobby spazieren – so wenig scheint sich hier in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten verändert zu haben.

Auch der Komfort ließ zu wünschen übrig. Die Klimaanlage war deutlich hörbar, während einer Hochzeit drang laute Musik bis in die Zimmer, und selbst im 15. Stock war aufgrund schlecht isolierter Fenster der Straßenlärm deutlich wahrnehmbar. Besonders nachts sorgten aufheulende Motoren selbst ernannter kroatischer Hobbyrennfahrer für zusätzliche Geräuschkulisse.

Das Badezimmer war klein, veraltet und wenig komfortabel. Die Badewanne verfügt lediglich über einen fest installierten Duschkopf ohne Handbrause.

Der Service überzeugte ebenfalls nicht. Wegen einer Hochzeit war der Parkplatz überfüllt, sodass ich die Hotelgarage nutzen musste, die eher an einen Betonbunker erinnert als an die Garage eines Fünf-Sterne-Hotels. Hilfe beim Gepäck gab es nicht. Der Aufenthalt begann zudem damit, dass bei beiden gebuchten Zimmern die Schlüsselkarten nicht funktionierten und neu programmiert werden mussten. Es ist immer beruhigend, wenn ein Aufenthalt in einem Fünf-Sterne-Hotel bereits in den ersten Minuten so professionell beginnt.

Die Werbevideos und Bilder des Hotels haben mit dem tatsächlichen Zustand nur wenig gemeinsam.

Wenig gelungen fand ich außerdem die Regelung für Gäste mit Hund. Die Bar war tabu, als Alternative blieb nur die Terrasse. Dort schien allerdings gerade die inoffizielle kroatische Landesmeisterschaft im Dauerrauchen stattzufinden.
