Pros:

The hotel is well-located by the river and close to the city center. Check-in and check-out were quick, and the reception staff were excellent and friendly; the room was clean. My only observation was the limited lunch menu; despite it being lunchtime, only one type of sandwich and two types of salad were available.

Outstanding service in a lovely hotel.
Pros:

Great location. Immaculate. Good for parking.
Excellent service throughout. All staff spoke English and made everything so much easier for our stay. The concierge staff were especially helpful and warm. Even giving us some water to drive with.

Cons:

Nothing. Only that we had to wait for the lift quite a long time around breakfast time but it’s to be expected.

Perfect 5-star stay in the heart of Lyon!
Pros:

Sofitel stands by its name an brand value! We had a wonderful stay at a lovely riverside location in the heart of Lyon. The entire property is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The staff are very efficient and helpful, all the time. Even though we did not avail most of the facilities and services at the hotel, there were plenty of options for food and drinks if you want. The room was quite spacious, and well appointed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The location is amazing -- just in between two largest hubs of Lyon -- Perrache and Bellecour -- with a number of very good cafes, bouchons and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Overall, you may expect the same world-class service of Sofitel in Lyon at this property. We will definitely book this hotel if we are in Lyon again.

Cons:

If we nitpick a bit, the bathroom fittings could benefit from a little bit of modernization -- it seemed a little old in terms of the facilities. We would have loved a bit more of toiletries provided in the bathroom -- e.g., hand-soap was missing. However, none of this is significant. It is a really good place to stay in Lyon.
