This was my second time here, first time in 2024 and I stayed 6 nights. This time I stayed 9 days. Its strategically located. Very good ambience with the green compound and swimming pools. Hotel is overlooking the ocean. Rooms spacious. Restruant has good range of options Generally, things are okay. However, if I am paying this much for a room, I expect above average services. Although cleaning is done regularly, is not up to standard. With my experience, doors in my room were stained, pillow cases dirty,some corners dusty, and curtains also dirty. Why were the TV channels off? They told me person in charge was on leave and that I should use Youtube instead. When you call reception for things like water, it takes forever. I believe this hotel has potential to do better than this...these are inconviniences that make clients reconsider

Absolutely brilliant hotel. We had a swim up deluxe room, on the sunny side, and it was amazing. Room was spacious, comfortable, clean and modern. Great views of the sunset, a nice bar to relax in - we spent a lot of time in the Sports Bar where the best member of staff was Macoss, even though he wasn't bar staff he could not have been any friendlier or more helpful and really made the experience even better. Didn't try the main pool as we had our own, room service was really good, and most staff on reception were really helpful for money exchange and taxis too. Definitely recommend, we had an amazing Christmas holiday there.

Just got back from an incredible holiday at the African Princess Hotel, and I’m still soaking in the memories. From start to finish, the experience was relaxing, vibrant, and exactly what I needed.

A huge thank you to the amazing management team, especially Fatima (and others whose names I didn’t catch), for going above and beyond to organise a beautiful birthday surprise for my friend—with a cake and decorations that made the moment truly special.

The staff honestly made this trip unforgettable:

* Edward at reception, thank you for helping us arrange a taxi to the airport and for stepping in to call our rep when our transfer left without us.
* Osman at reception for the warm welcome at the start of our holiday and making check-in smooth and easy.
* Ibrahim for bringing our luggage and taking the time to show us around our room.
* Fato and Lawrence in the restaurant for their great service and friendliness.
* James and Modou at the bar for the amazing cocktails and for helping us celebrate with a speaker for my friend’s birthday.
* Lamin Bk (Block 2 housekeeper) for keeping our room immaculate and always going the extra mile with extra touches.
* David from maintenance for quickly fixing my friend’s door and being very helpful.
* David, the pool attendant, for keeping the pool spotless and even helping us with fresh coconuts.

The location is peaceful and beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and clean, and the overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Between the great food, relaxing poolside moments, and the genuine kindness of the staff, this was more than just a holiday—it was an experience I’ll always remember.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable getaway, especially if you’re celebrating something special!

Cannot fault this hotel. Service was excellent. Any (small) issues were dealt with promptly and without question. Breakfast was amazing with so much quality choice. Staff always very polite, friendly and helpful. Would recommend hotel without hesitation👍

The swim up room was great! The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant and bar were very good especially the breakfast!

Went for a week to celebrate my son’s 30th birthday … our stay was faultless …. Breakfasts had a huge choice from eggs to stunning bakery choices and much, much more in between with excellent coffee au lait too !
The bar delivered drinks to our pool beds when needed and the evening meals we had were definitely fine dining. The staff looked after us SO well and the security team kept us safe at all times. The view of the beach and the locals enjoying the beach was so nice to see. Being so close to solomons beach bar and other very local restaurants was another bonus. The Gambian Experience team arranged our 4 local trips and the hotel even provided a fabulous takeaway breakfast for the early starts. We used room service too when we relaxed on our own swim up terraces which was great. The hotel is very clean and modern … and we did not experience any Banjul belly!
My only regret is our visit was too short 😓

We visited at the end of the tourist season and the hotel was quiet. The room was clean thanks to Lamin B.K Fofana and the swim up pool was given attention every morning the breakfast was good and there were sufficient options changing money at the hotel was easy. We used the same taxi driver every day and that really helped to see surrounding areas and explore restaura
