Surprisingly Expensive, but Great Location
Pros:

The only thing that really keeps this Marriott stay at a 5 out of 5 is that the location cannot be beat. We were able to walk to most places we went to in the surrounding area on foot or by electric street car.

The rooms were okay, clean, and adequately provided the amenities we needed for our trip. Although this area gets rather busy at night, we did not notice any street noise from our rooms on the top floor.

Surprisingly, this property does not have an M Club Lounge and that is not really advertised well on the website. Not sure if they ever had one and it is just being renovated or not. At check-in we were offered "Chocolate Daily" as a perk which we declined, but in hindsight I which I had accepted it just so that I could see what that actually gets you.

Overall, it doesn't feel like a great value just from the inside of the property, but when you consider it is in a great location near the big touristy area of the city then it actually is not too bad. Way cheaper (in terms of nightly rate and overnight parking) than staying in the Marriott Marquis just about a mile away.

A solid Marriott property in a good location
Pros:

A solid Marriott property in a good location. It's not the largest hotel or the nicest, but they have a great staff and do the right things right.

Arriving by motorcycle while on a two-month trip, the valet was friendly, helpful and told us where to park the bikes in their secure parking area. I also liked how I was only charged $50 plus tax for parking two bikes when cars are charged $75.

Check-in was the same with no issues getting a 4 pm check out so we could leave our riding gear in our room while we visited Alcatraz before hitting the road. the have no M club, but the coupons for the good breakfast buffet were a worthy substitute for lifetime Platinum Rewards members.

The fitness center has everything you need and the cool scented towlettes are a nice touch.

It's a short walk to Pier 44 where the boats depart for Alcatraz.

I'd stay here again.

Overall, had a great day just changed the coffee maker and add more towel towels for the initial night or two

In room, coffee maker was broken. Didn’t like the fact that there were only two towels originally given I should assume if there were two people in a room there should be four towels minimum

The staff was unpleasant and unhelpful
No where to sit outside. Anytime we have stayed at Marriott they have complimentary self serve coffee. We went down to lobby at 6:25 am for coffee to go. Made us wait until exactly 6:30 am to pour us 2 cups of coffee to go for $12.00.The food was overpriced and subpar. 20.00 for 2 scrambled eggs & hash browns.Paid for a balcony room, usually has a couple chairs to sit outside. Barely big enough for 2 people and no where to sit. We did pull a small ottoman out of the room to sit. No makeup mirror. Charge 5.00 to use washer & 5.00 for dryer- clothes were completely dry at $3.00. The vending machine for soda/ water was $3.25 each, but did not give change nor would take it all in quarters. Hollywood breakfast & lunch was right around the corner. For 20.00 the plated breakfast was amazing and plenty of food. Coffee was 3.00 with refills. Maybe if the staff was not so rude and unhelpful the other petty things listed above probably would not have been a big deal.

Good quality hotel in a good location offering appropriate facilities.
Pros:

It was a good location near Fisherman’s Wharf which is a central tourist location. They provided a restaurant which was reasonably priced and good food.

Cons:

I had to check out before leaving the area and the luggage lockers were outsourced and a bit pricey.
