Great hotel for a stay in San Jose
Pros:

The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are comfortable and spacious enough. The breakfast was very good with a diverse range of food and the breakfast room staff were so helpful and friendly. The bar and restaurant facilities are also great in the evening when you don’t want to venture out elsewhere in San Jose.

Not a friendly or private stay.
Pros:

The location was good. Felt clean and safe.

Cons:

The bathroom had no privacy. No doors or space to even change clothes, let alone shower and use the toilet. When going to the lounge in the morning for coffee, I was totally ignored and had to go to go up to the staff to get a cup.

Pros:

El desayuno estupendo con productos locales. Habitaciones, servicio e instalaciones fantasticas.

Cons:

Una vez más, por reservar por Booking nos dieron una habitación con vistas a un callejón cuando el hotel tiene casi todas las habitaciones con vistas estupendas. No es la primera vez que nos pasa y es una pena que baje la puntuación por ello.
Habitación demasiado fría y cama muy blanda y movida.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

Great location close to shopping and food options. Next to the National Theater (beautiful if you have a chance to visit) and the Gold Museum. Lots of security, and safe.

The entire team is professional and courteous. From check in, lobby, reception, housekeeping, breakfast, restaurant, and bar it was a wonderful 7 day stay.

Quaint hotel with charm and a little bit of JFK history. Other famous individuals have visited and stayed at the Gran Hotel.

Great breakfast and location

Cons:

The staff at they reception was not very helpful. The lady could not even tell us how much the breakfast is, she also could not help us to arrange a transfer to where we were supposed to pick up our rental car - she did try calling but was not successful.
