Excellent location to reach downtown Pittsburgh. Warm cookies at arrival. Every staff person we met was professional, courteous, pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and nice. We ate at both the bistro (the pizza was great) and the restaurant (breakfast buffet was $20; it was pretty much like Holiday Inn Express accept they had hand made omelets and lox, bagels and cream cheese with capers).
When I booked directly with the hotel I requested 2 adjoining rooms: one for my 92 yo father, the other for my husband and me. Their system said the rooms were adjoining but in reality they were not. My father was too tired to move so we stayed in the rooms we were assigned for the night. At 2am the AC in our room went bonkers. It was so noisy I couldn't go back to sleep. We couldn't turn it off and thermostat didn't work. The front desk offered to send someone up (at 2am?). I refused and watched 1980s music videos the rest of the night.
In the morning Kate the manager found us truly adjoining rooms, and gave us a reduction on the room.
That morning I left my earrings (cubic zirconia studs) on the counter in the bathroom of the old room. I called the hotel and manager Kate answered and said she'd send housekeeping to look. She called me right back and said they were found!!! I tipped the housekeeper who found them handsomely.
All three of us agreed that the hotel was well worth it and we will return next time we visit our relatives there. The staff made all the difference in our case.
3 adults checked in - only 2 towels!!
Intercom phone not working - room was very far from reception
Loved everything about the property, its location, it’s exceptional cleanliness and staff. Marina at the front desk was amazing.
There was an issue with the hot tub so it wasn’t hot but that’s it and the online menu for the Chanpions restaurant did not match the menu within the restaurant. The Bistro had really good burgers and fries. I highly recommend it.
Room had limited view and bathroom had shower items empty and shower control valve fell off wall.
The overall cleanliness and hospitality of the hotel was quite pleasant...definitely made up for some the issues I had with the hotel. The personal from the front desk down to the house keeping staff made my stay acceptable for the price I paid.
The elevators need attending to, my friend had elevator drop down a floor or two as he was returning to our room on the 6 floor. That experience shook him up a little bit. The shower heads and pressure could be updated and tweaked. Rooms are a little tight as far as spacing to include the bathrooms. The one community microwave for the entire hotel located in the lobby isn't feasible, there sure be at least one per floor for convenience.
