Would stay again.
Pros:

Convenient, central, close to viaduct, shopping and Spark arena. Loved the upgrade of having 3 bedroom and two bathroom wings, so two couples get their own wing of bedroom and a bathroom. Fabulous ocean and city views, lovely staff, comfortable stay. Loved the late check out of 11am, giving us time for a run, shower etc before leaving..

Started fine, ended badly.

Location was great - the size of the room was fantastic.

Cons:

This is the first bad review I have ever done in many years of traveling. We had a loud group of people enter our room just after midnight on the first night. The night staff had given them swipe cards to our room. They were somehow also allocated our room. We were woken from a deep sleep, disorientated and scared as we couldnt comprehend what was happening for a few mins. If I had been in the room alone and that group had been a bunch of drunk males - the story could have been quite different. When we notified reception the next morning - they had no idea this had happened. Obviously the night staff had not put a note on our file when we rang reception just after it happened. We were offered 20% off the first night, which we said wasnt really good enough. We felt it should have been fully compensated (free). The following week we received an email saying they could do 50% off the first night. For such a massive security breach, we thought this was very poor. It effected our entire weekend, as we didnt feel like our belongings were safe when we were out during the day, and our personal safety was put at risk. Obviously we couldnt get back to sleep afterwards and it felt similar to a home invasion. For the record, the female on reception during the day on Saturday and Sunday was lovely and helpful. It was not her fault, and she apologized on behalf of the hotel.

Very comfortable place to stay
Pros:

It was clean and spacious, very comfortable. The staff I met were very good, friendly, helpful, not stressed. Location spot on for my conference in Shed 10. Good value too

Convenient location to Auckland CBD and waterfront
Pros:

Great location in Auckland CBD. Close to transport hubs for trains, buses and ferries. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.

Cons:

Decor a bit dated for our room but comfortable. Renovations going on with outside of the building so we had scaffolding outside of our balcony which was covered in dust as well as balcony furniture. Only one guest elevator out of three was working so wait time for elevator was often slow. Service elevator was available for a while until even that one was also out of service.

Cons:

It was under construction. Only one lift operating and immediately after check in my husband and I were accosted getting into the lift by some rude guy who said he worked there, accusing my husband of being drunk and demanding to know which room we were in. My husband was not intoxicated in the slightest and your staff member was out of line. Ruined our stay.
