Had an absolute fabulous time at the Hilton St. Louis at the Ballpark. The location was perfect for going to the Arch, sightseeing, food and Busch Stadium. The rooms were clean and high end. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Very flexible with requests and even had secured parking for our oversized vehicle! Pricing was very affordable and well worth what we got. We would definitely stay there again!
We came to attend the Cardinal ballgame and this was a perfect location for two sixty plus senior citizens. The bed was comfy and the room was delightful. The only complaint was the cold buffet food. I wish we did not waste our money.
The cold food in the buffet for breakfast.
The closeness to Bush stadium and the arch. Even though our rooms were in different buildings we still felt that this was a safe establishment and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and smelt nice.
It would have been very nice to have our rooms close together since traveling with our children. However we understand that it was a very busy weekend and it wasn't the end of the world. Also in the evening it did take quite a while to wait for our elevators but once again not the worst thing that it could have been.
Property was close to venue. Beds were comfortable. We were given a free breakfast for the delays experienced at check in.
Property was not prepared for a major turnout for an event despite being located next to a MLB stadium. There were multiple, if not close to 100 families displaced for an extended time despite confirming a check in time. Many of us did not receive time prior to the game start to be able to check in, clean up and unload luggage before activities started and we had to miss pre-game activities. We booked the hotel nearly 8 months prior and confirmed a 4pm check in to make it to the pregame show but was not called for our room availability until after 530pm while waiting in the crowded lobby. It doesn't sound like much except after traveling for hours to be sure and make the show activities at 5pm, we had to miss them and barely made it to the game prior to start.
Will not be booking this hotel again on game days.
Why Hilton St. Louis sucks
* Outlets conveniently on one side of bed, but not the other
* Impossible to find on/off switches on all the lamps. They have an accordion shape and a metallic reflection that hides a small button on a lower crease between the bellows on the back. Our bad for not finding that in the dark. None were connected to a wall switch. Always fun fiddling with new lamp designs in the dark, for no good reason.
* No microwave
* Fridge broke, they had to replace it.
* Grimy walls/floors in bathroom and unidentified hair
* Broken light over the bed
* Tv not facing the bed- the desk and a framed photograph are directly facing the bed, while the tv is to the side, facing the wall because that makes sense.
* No freezer in the fridge
* Temperature won’t go above 74°
* Near impossible to figure out the shower. What’s so wrong with the shower on/off system of every other home and hotel on earth? It took 10 different combinations of pressing/pulling a tab on the wall and turning the handle to magically land on a working shower.
* No exhaust fan in the bathroom for the moisture or for noise
* Ice machine in the hallway releases more ice than fits their provided buckets, making it a guarantee to spill ice all over their floor, each and every time it’s used
*Our second key didn’t work, which a very joyless staff member handled begrudgingly
* Shower ceiling is very low. Be prepared to duck your entire shower if you’re even just barely considered tall
* All this joy for $400
*But the view is incredible, stadium side
So close to all the great places around the ballpark.
West Tower is a little dated.
Save yourself the stress. From the moment we pulled up, it was a nightmare. Valet line wrapped around the corner. We waited 30 minutes and as it’s our turn to pull in they flip the sign to Valet Full. We drive up the street to the parking deck Hilton recommends for self park. $60 prepay only. Ok, fine. We walk the block with our luggage and get to the hotel at 4pm to stand in a check in line. Finally get to the front, and our room isn’t ready. Trying not to let it ruin the evening we check our bags and leave for an hour. We return, room still isn’t ready. No timeline of when it might be ready. It’s 6pm at this point and event is at 7. We unpack our suitcase in the lobby and use the lobby bathroom to change. Disgusting! Garbage overflowing, sinks clogged, no soap or paper towels. We stop at the front desk and let them know that the bathroom is disgusting and ask yet again when the room will be ready. Miraculously it’s been ready. Well sort of, it’s not the room we’ve been waiting on, but I guess because I expressed how frustrated I was at this point, a room opened up. We get upstairs and the hallway had to be 80+ degrees. The room is so worn and dirty. Everyone is refusing to shower in this tub. I paid extra for a ballpark view and literally didn’t get to use it. The reason they gave at the desk was that they had a lot of turn over rooms last night. And? YOU booked that many rooms, and were aware of what you had. They refunded 50% of our room which was fine until we actually made it into said room. We actually contemplated making the 3 hour drive home at 10 pm because it’s so gross. We are Marriott Platinum but wanted to do something “cool” for our sons birthday, so we booked a ballpark view at Hilton. It’s been nothing but disappointing.
Great location with a short walk to the ballpark. Some rooms have a view of the Gorgoeus view of the ARCH.
At $250 a night, this hotel is overpriced and badly needs a remodel. The carpets are worn and the bathrooms look 20-30 years old. My room was missing a painting and the hooks on the wall were visible. The security could be better as a homeless man followed me into the hotel, and then the hotel staff tried to blame me! As a Hilton Honors DIAMOND member. Next time, for an additional $150, I will stay at the far superior Four Seasons.
Location
Entire bathroom. Toilet didn’t flush, air took over 12 hours to lower temp to 72
Close to the stadium
Room smelled like a outhouse. Not sure if they have plumbing issues
Location, breakfast
Elevators, long lines, uncomfortable beds, run down
Dirty moldy smelly rooms. Pool closed. Carpets worn. Peeling wallpaper. Staff don’t seem to care or are annoyed by any issues you bring up.
The location is great since it is very close to Busch Stadium. The atmosphere was good b/c there were a lot of Phillies and Cardinal fans at the hotel. We were not happy with our room. It is out dated and the shower head didn’t work good, the exhaust in the bathroom didn’t work, & the bathroom door didn’t stay open .
As for service, we had an awesome server named Tamara at the market bistro buffet in the morning. She was so friendly and helpful. We had nice conversation with her.
Location is very convenient. The rooms are in need of a serious clean and update. The fridge in the room was leaking coolant throughout our stay. After the first service it briefly got better, but started leaking again. Wood cabinet was warping due to the leak and carpet in front was consistently wet.
My husband and I had breakfast at the hotel, and our server, Tamara, was amazing! She was so friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. She truly made our breakfast experience even better. Thank you, Tamara, for the wonderful service! ❤️
