Location
Horrible windows veiw. TV broken, ants, cheap and run down
This property has treated my friends and family amazing the last three stays. The Riverview rooms with balcony are truly impressive, offering some of the best views in the city!
The front desk staff here is actually very special. Thank you to Angel and Jess at the front desk. They are kind, caring and go above and beyond to take care of their loyal guests.
We enjoyed dinner at proof reader. Our waitress Paula is always the best! We always request her because her service is next to none. Thank you for taking such great care of us for dinner.

Hallways have buckled carpet, not sure why they haven’t stretched it since it’s a safety hazard. Bathroom mirror has had a rough time, decorative lighting around bed had bulbs out that no one seemed to care about. The hotel just needs a little love, more attention to details. Rooms are quiet enough, downtown Portland is deserted so not a lot of street noise, easy to walk to restaurants, wouldn’t recommend eating in the hotel, service is good from staff, if you are looking for an average hotel this is your place. It’s fine.
Staff was very good
Good
The staff the lady that checked us in Jamie or something at the front desk around 5:30 pm on the right side desk can’t remember her name was rude I told her we came for my wife birthday and anniversary and asked if we can get some wine or acknowledgment for checking in and was told that she would do something special for the occasion but didn’t do anything for us that day but got extra bills for upgrades and no discounts for M pass lounge and in the past was greeted more nicer and professionally than her
Over priced
Our bed ( mattress) was like something from The Goodwill. Very old and bumpy, VERY BUMPY!! The noise
At 1:30 out side ( and we were on the 11th floor) I think the trash was being picked up and it was soooo loud. It took a while to go back to sleep. I realize it was a championship weekend, but kids were play hide a go seek in the lobby and at one point we were having coffee and the kids hide behind our chairs. 😠no one said anything to them( every night) in the coffee shop only one person working and the line was soooo long. We stay at Marriott all the time, but this time was the worst.
After noon manager offerd to help with luggage
After I was pleading the front desk for help because Hal Browning is 81 disabled can bearly walk with his cane , and I am 73 and have COPD
making it difficult to walk short distances with out suffering low oxigen.
Front desk was not going to send assistance for our luggage despite my explanation of our handi caps
After extensively pleading a house cleaner did bring a cart for us but only dropped it off leaving me to load and push it to the valet.
THEY HAVE NO BELL SERVICE
The coffee maker is a old motel six filter bag type most likely because they have espresso store in there lobby.
The bar/restraunt only 9 items not a venue one might expect for a fancy down town hotel it is in the bar area no class at all.
The bartender frowned the entire time even after getting a smile and nice greating from me.
My Manhattan came in a old champaign stem glass served UP ,,,,I had to ask for a short tumbler glass and ice, the way I like it.
THE ROOM HAD HARDLY ANY FURNITUTE what was there is the cheapest avaliable, No table one chair.
It was a dive motel with unfriendly staff
do your self a favor and BOOK SOME PLACE ELSE

Hard pass for government contractors! You're not welcome here at the government rate. This is a Marriott but does not have a typical Marriott brand! It's older with shower tub combo and odd smell. All the staff are nice except Brad who misrepresents himself as the manager. Half of my team checked in and Brad refused the others even after a conversation requesting a compromise was made. He was cold, callous and unkind. The restaurant is nice as well.
