We stayed for one night, passing through, and it was a perfectly nice standard Sheraton with easy highway access. Our room was newly renovated. There were some punch list items that should’ve been taken care of, such as closet doors that don’t close, but overall it was nice enough. The large pool is probably their biggest asset, which is both an indoor and an outdoor pool with a swim through access. The only annoying thing about the stay was that they serve breakfast in a lower conference room which had no ventilation, so your clothes end up smelling. There was some construction around but it didn’t bother us and I’d certainly stay here again if passing through.
Target and other stores close by
Hotel in general not clean. Wouldn’t allow your own drinks at the pool. Breakfast not included.
The hotel has changed little since last year. Renovation was halted 1-2 years ago; parts still in dissarray and the rumor is it is in receivership. The restairant is limited in availability and seating; also like last year.
The staff is VERY friendly.
Poison ivy has run rampant on the back side of the building in the English ivy beds. Along with the invasive Virginia creeper. No warning signs posted.
I stayed here for an art class and while there were some good things about the hotel, I never would have stayed here had I known what shape it is in, nor would I stay here again. The staff was very nice but rarely answered questions satisfactorily. The hotel is undergoing renovations and is kind of a mess--it is definitely not Sheraton quality. It is also quite sprawling--you had to meander the halls to get to places. Our room was okay as was the meeting room my class was held in. Breakfast was included and was good. There is a Target and fast food places within walking distance.
They say this hotel is being renovated, but there were no signs of workers doing anything anywhere—and we wandered the many halls trying to get around. The signage was poor.
The room was decent and the beds were good. The breakfast was edible. Enough of the good stuff—the shower/tub was really slippery, and the ceiling was peeling above it. The toilet paper holder was coming off the wall. AND, the water coming out of the pipes smelled of dirt. I didn't even want to shower there. The hotel gives bottled water and we used it for everything, including brushing teeth. They don't tell you to do that, but they should.
My sister and I stayed here for an art retreat she was attending. I spent the day doing some work and swimming my laps in the inside pool, which is connected to the outside pool by a short tunnel. Lots of debris floating, in the water (I pulled out a candy wrapper). I was wearing goggles, so I could see the bottom hadn't been painted in a long time, and what was there was peeling. Tons of kids in the pool, so I'm sure it wasn't terribly hygienic. I finished my laps and left.
The sloped concrete hall to the pool is a mess as well. It needs painting—and cleaning. Outside the carpeted hallway to the elevator looks like a tenement. The brown paint to the elevator doors was all scratched up and even had some graffiti.
This place looks good on paper and everything looks nice from a distance, but it's falling apart much faster than anything is getting fixed.
The staff was kind and attentive
I had ants in my room. The "Bar" was a hallway that was converted into a bar to handle the construction. It smelled and there was more bugs.
It was ok
Breakfast was not included and it should be for the price. It was so confusing with the construction and I got lost all the time.
Pool
The Sheraton Harrisburg Hershey is currently undergoing renovations, and I’ll admit I didn’t read ahead of time, so part of the surprise is on me. I was assigned a room on the 10th floor, and getting there felt like navigating a maze of temporary hallways and detours just to reach the elevator.
As a Titanium Elite, I usually rely on the lounge for water, snacks, and a quick breakfast. At the moment, the lounge has been converted into a fitness center, so don’t expect those amenities if you’re staying here around this time.
If you’re planning to visit Hersheypark, it’s worth noting that the roads between the hotel and Hershey are under construction, and traffic can build up. Not the hotel’s fault, but definitely something to keep in mind so expectations are set.
The room itself was perfectly acceptable clean, quiet, and the bed was genuinely comfortable. If your priority is getting good rest, this hotel delivers on that front. The staff was friendly, and parking was plentiful, which I appreciated.
Overall, the best way to describe this hotel right now is: “be patient with me.” Once renovations are complete, I can see it being a much smoother experience.
You was clean, staff friendly and helpful. I was there for a conference. Lots of construction makes the restaurant very small. It’s going to be beautiful when completed.
Stayed here for a family reunion an absolutely loved it. The pool is absolutely amazing, and one of the reasons we selected it. The hotel is a little closer to Harrisburg than Hershey, but it’s a short drive to most attractions in the area. Hotel offers a pretty decent breakfast service in their on-site restaurant; lunch and dinner options were a little more limited when we visited. Rooms were comfortable and clean.
Everything needs updated or repaired
the renovated rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was simple and good, even though they are under construction. The pool was very nice. The pool could have been a little cleaner but it still was nice. The entire pool area is a great set up and the ability to swim inside and outside was really cool.
It’s a little dated but it was comfortable
We went to Hershey Park for a family stay and wanted a nice hotel at a great rate. We found this hotel. We had reservations that multiple reviews mentioned ongoing construction. When we arrived, we were advised of the constructions. My first thought was oh no, we have a baby.
As we walked to the room, we saw the outdoor pool lit up w/green lights and a bar. That would be fun if we’re just my wife and I..
The room was modern with comfortable beds. The room was clean, and quiet. We slept great!
I recommend this hotel and will use it again when we go to Hershey Park next year.
This hotel is under construction
If given another option I would stay elsewhere. The construction is definitely in your face and seems to be in slow motion based on how long this has been going on based on the reviews.
We did eat at the restaurant and the food was good, but the best other option for other food was Chili's.
The people who work at the hotel are very nice it really is just the construction and mess that would make me pick another hotel.
