The shuttle service to the airport.
The breakfast was a bit meh. No easy access to public transportation (subway/buses) etc (have to take shuttle to airport and then take bus to subway)
Completely redone. Nice interior decor. Cool furniture. The outside remains as ugly as usual. Friendly people at the reception.
Service is atrocious. Half of the outlets in the room did not work, chair completely destroyed, headlights on bed did not work. At over 300 dollars a room, they even wanted to charge me for Wifi. At this level of maintenance, the premises will be in ruins in less than a decade.

The pillows on the bed smelt old and moldy and like sweat. that was gross. yuck

Our flight got cancelled due to to weather conditions in Chicago so we check in as it’s the closest to the airport to catch the morning flight.
Smooth check in, clean and cold room. We were asked if we wanted a king or double bed and we said kings
30 minutes after going to the room we asked to move to a double bed. I made the mistake of mentioning my sister was joining, and I wanted the double as the website stayed it was for 3-4 persons.
The lady said no doubles available.
I said ok hope there’s a single, and she said yes.
My sister arrives an hour later as her flight hit something on the tarmac and took forever to disembark.
Surprise surprise
They gave her a double room.
I called back to complain the lady was fumbling and rude so I said let me speak to your manager.
5 minutes of hold until the manager comes on and says oh, I checked both of you in and the room got cancelled past midnight so we gave it to her.
Makes beautiful sense EXCEPT they knew we were related as my sister mentions wanting the room close to us if possible, so they could have said actually you guys asked for this room and here you go.
When it became available within the house they could have also stated it then and shifted us prior to her arrival.
So of course it was sneaky - and got Bonvoy members - just a reminder for why we don’t stay with the brand anymore unless forced to, due to such practices.
Marriott shouldn’t have to prey on stranded passengers to make a quick buck - this is embarassing.
