The stay was overall enjoyable. Pretty good value for the price.
Pros:

It was clean and my room was smallish but nice. Staff was very helpful.

Cons:

The TV was nice but response time was slow and not much of a selection.

Going downhill - QUICKLY
Pros:

Having stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years, I am now never going to stay there again. The maintenance of the property leaves a lot to be desired. The management team has redone the lobby and bar area, but that is clearly where they ran out of money. We were put in two rooms on the 4th floor, where the elevator down button does not work - every time you select down, the elevator takes you to the 6th floor (where you are supposed to need a keycard to access) and then eventually down to the ground floor. Even one of the staff members joked the elevators from the 4th always take him on a journey! The rooms are extremely tired. It seems the bathrooms have been refurbished by being updated and having the bathtubs removed (the website does not mention this); however, the sinks do not drain, so you need to run the taps very slowly to avoid a sink full of water. They also removed the door in favor of a sliding door, which frankly is an appalling decision. The closet has doors that don't close as they are old and either warped or falling off the hinges, and the furniture looks like they got it from Goodwill, it is so badly beaten up. The pillows have so little stuffing that when you put your head on them you are basically putting your head on the mattress and the bedding barely covers the bed.
Our TV was temperamental and occasionally would not work, the remote would not change the channel and some of the channels were incorrectly tuned. At one point, even the internet went down - it happens - but when I called down to ask if there was a problem, I was told no guests had called down reporting a problem, to which I reminded the person who answered the phone, I was in fact a guest!
Basically, this is a Marriott in name only and is basically not better than a roadside motel and its management should be ashamed of running such a rundown property, as should Marriott itself for allowing it to happen,

the staff! great friendly staff with nice smiles.

Cons:

maybe some update on lightings in the room and hallway. I stayed in one of these "old" type hotel in UK last year. With some update lighting, it was very nice feeling.
