Great location, latge rooms, and friendly staff
Perfect location to explore downtown Victoria !
The room and amenities are a bit old and would benefit from a renovation.
Wonderful hotel great location the staff are friendly and welcoming, the suite was lovely the pool was a great way to end our day had breakfast everyday at Vista on the 18th fl.if your looking for a nice hotel in victoria this is it
We stayed one night whilst visiting from UK. The room we had was older and tired but clean. No aircon in main lounge meant a very poor nights sleep for our son. Roadworks outside the building window during the daytime. Holes in bedroom curtain meant sun woke us up. Took the server 40 mins in the rooftop bar to pour 2 drinks. Shower was poor as half water ran out of bath taps.
Advised the stay wasn’t great at check out but host didn’t seem too interested to understand why. Disappointing.
Our group was a family which included adults and children. We loved our stay at Chateau Victoria! The hotel is in a prime location. You can walk to so many attractions, including the inner harbour. There are lots of restaurants in the area and the hotel restaurant is excellent! Also great value as they give you happy hour pricing all day if you are staying at the hotel. My grandchildren enjoyed the pool and used it daily! But probably I was most impressed by the hotel staff. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and really went out of their way to be helpful. If I return to Victoria, this is where I will stay!
10/10 stay. I’ve been a guest at CV for over 10 years and the service, room and experience has always been exceptional. All staff are friendly and go the extra mile. Truly a gem, would highly recommend the Chateau Victoria to anyone visiting the city.
Staff molto gentile, posizione perfetta e piscina molto gradevole
Colazione ricca ma cara con tempi un pó lunghi
Good hotel, clean, nice pool
Exceptional customer service! Every staff member we encountered was engaging, friendly, and genuinely helpful. Housekeeping was incredibly responsive, and it was clear that everyone took pride in their work.
We were a party of five adults and were pleasantly surprised by how comfortably we fit in a one-bedroom suite. We especially loved the stunning south-facing views from the 12th floor. A special thank you to Mary at the front desk for recommending that room—it made our stay even more memorable!
Great location and staff were very helpful
Love this hotel! Always a friendly welcome to greet you - rooms are very clean and comfortable. Bedding is delightful. Clive's is always a great place for enticing beverages and munchies.
Great central location!
Lack of vegan options for breakfast menu.
Five stars for location and elegant public interior. Room and bathroom were clean.
Room only had a portable air conditioner which was noisy and that was really disappointing.
No drinking water provided in the room.
For the price paid for what it lacked I was a little disappointed.
We had a lovely time at the Chateau! Service was top-notch. Every single person we met was friendly and helpful. We stayed in a great room, and the location was superb. We were able to walk everywhere! Parking was very easy as well. They’re highly amenitized with the pool and fitness, and a fun bar in the lounge. Overall 5/5, would definitely recommend.
We stayed here as a family of four. While the location was convenient and our suite was spacious, unfortunately our overall experience was very disappointing.
The biggest issue was that the hotel advertised the room as having air conditioning, but the reality was quite different. We booked a suite with a separate bedroom and living room. There was only one portable air conditioning unit, and it was placed inside the bedroom. While the bedroom became comfortably cool, the second bed was located in the living room, which had no air conditioning at all. The living room remained extremely hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable, making it very difficult to sleep, especially during the summer. For a suite designed to accommodate four guests, this was simply unacceptable.
The building also appears to have an outdated electrical system. On our first day, we were only using the portable air conditioner and the hotel's electric kettle at the same time when the power in our suite suddenly tripped.
When we reported the issue to the front desk, we expected staff to take care of it. Instead, we were told that if it happened again, we could simply reset the breaker ourselves. I was honestly shocked that a hotel would expect guests to access the electrical panel and restore the power themselves. We were also advised not to use two high-power appliances at the same time because the electricity would likely trip again.
This left us wondering how we were supposed to use other basic appliances, such as a hair dryer. The suggested solution was to open the windows, but our suite faced a noisy area, making it difficult to sleep with the windows open.
I also found the listing misleading. When a hotel advertises "air conditioning," most guests would reasonably expect built-in or central air conditioning throughout the suite—not a single portable unit that only cools one room. Had I known this before booking, I would have chosen another hotel.
Finally, the staff member who assisted us (possibly the manager) was not particularly friendly or empathetic. Rather than acknowledging our concerns or offering a solution, the attitude made us feel that these issues were simply something guests had to accept.
Overall, although the location was good and the suite was spacious, the outdated facilities, inadequate cooling, recurring electrical problems, and disappointing customer service significantly affected our stay. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel, especially for families or anyone visiting during the summer.
